| Phoebe's tiny girls -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How much should I be supplementing these babies. they are 3.15 and 2.80 now 1 mix the smallest measurement circle with 2 equal capfuls of water, mixed it makes 5cc (1 tsp) should i let them eat as much as they want of this 1 tsp. according to the directions, 4oz puppy should have 1 tsp, since they are not not at this wt i cut it in half. Lil bit's belly gets so full, but she still seems hungry. I dont want to over feed her or hurt her. Can I safely give her this 2.5 (1/2 tsp) every 2-3 hrs. They are gaining, but very slowly. __________________ Melanie and Phoebe and babies

| I supplemented my puppies (due to mommy having a swollen milk sac). They were bigger than yours, however. I fed with an eyedropper, they would stop taking it when they didn't want anymore.....then I would burp them. (yes, they burped!) after the burping they were able to take a little more. I think that it is safe to give them as much as they want, at this point. (my opinion) But, I do know from experience that burping does help. Hold them in your hand with their bellies on your palm...gently pat them on the back like a baby. Best of luck!!

| Just wondering why you are supplimenting. Is their mom unable to nurse them? Colustrum is very important to them now so if at all possible try to let them get as much from mom as they can.

| Phoebe and babies The reason I am supplementing is because the little ones are gaining s much slower. I make sure they get mom's milk first, and then I give them formula, which is maybe twice a day only. Their weights today are: 1. Girl 6.80 oz 2. Girl 5.50 oz 3. Girl 5.10 oz 4. Girl 3.55 oz 5. Girl 3.05 oz 6. Boy 5.76 oz they are 8 days old tday. here is a pic from today

| Now I understand! Roxi had 7 last litter and ended up with eclampsia so make sure mom is getting plenty of calcium. Good luck with your little bits.

| Oh I remember those days just 4 weeks ago. I didn't have to supplement at all, but did start feeding the puppies earlier than with a smaller litter. Have fun with them..they grow fast!!

| Phoebe's babies One more group shot, close up of the little boy on his back. He looks like he does not have a care in the world! I wish I could sleep like that.

| its always best to supplement the larger pups in the litter and give more teat time to the small ones....also use nutridrops once or twice a day, only a drop on your finger and wipe on the pups tongue...NOT nutri cal..but nutridrops! all the best 7 pups are going to keep you busy

| They are all very precious, and I can fully understand why you're supplementing them.
