| Has he been checked for all possible genetic defects....Hearing tested, eyes tested, bile acid tested, checked for luxating patellas, leggs perthes, full blood panel. Does he come from an excellent pedigree. And is he an excellent representation of the breed. Are you prepared to assist in whelping, take puppies that can't be sold, etc.....It's a big responsibilty.....Most breeders have their own studs and those that don't usually turn to show breeders for studding.

| I know you have to do all the above before you try to breed, and then you have to make sure the female has also been checked from head to toe. I don't know how you would advertise. Maybe in on of the forums?

| JT JT has great pedigree and has had a clean bill of health from his Vet... And yes I'm willing to take the unsold puppies I think my biggest question is, should I have him fixed if he is not going to mate... He is 2 years old |

| I think that is a great idea. That way, you will encounter a lot fewer problems. Also, unfortunately having a great pedigree doesn't necessarily mean the dog will produce excellent, quality puppies. A lot of people advertise their puppies claiming to have great pedigrees and lots of champions but that doesn't mean they have been bred correctly.

| My little stud has turned into such a whiney butt lately cause I have a gal in heat. He kept me up all night Fri. and ended up sleeping in the car last night. For a wonderful dog otherwise, he's a pain in the butt when a stud. If I wasn't a show breeder I'd fix him in a heart beat!!!

| If you're not going to breed him then have him neutered. It will make your life and his a lot easier.
