| When is the best time? Okay so my co-worker and I have been planning on breeding our dogs, his dog is finally in heat after several long months of planning but the question I had was is there a better time of the heat to get pregnancy to occur? |

there is so much more than placing too dogs together. best to learn all you can first. read read read....find someone to help w some whelpings we see too many people on here who do not know what they are doing and they loose their little girl and/or the litter. unless you want to place her in harms way, i suggest you and your friend hold off until you can get some experience. also, they need to be tested are they of a good quality standard of the breed topline-knees-eyes-bite-coloring-ears????? there are way TOO MANY yorkies out there that do not look like yorkies do to poor breeding.

After several long months of planning, I'm sure you know when is best. Have you thought about a contract with your co-worker. Breeding with a friend can be a recipe for disaster if you promise a puppy and you only have one. I'd get something in writing or pay a fee up front. Just a thought but I'm sure you've already considered it. | |
