Confussed about temp??? My Sophie is due anytime now and her temp 2 days ago was 101 and then it dropped to 98.4. I was expecting her babies last night and nothing happened. I checked her temp this morning and its back to 100.4. Whats up? Has anyone ever had this happen before? i thought when it dropped to 98. that it would be within 24 hours is what I have read on the forum is this correct?

| It can also mean that there has been an incident with one of the whelps that she is carrying. A drastic temperature fall with more than a degree rise can be an indication that a puppy is breaking away from the walls of the uterus and is ready to be born. Keep a close eye on her and continue to monitor her temp. I was told that if the temperature falls below 99 degrees and remains there for more than 48 hours without any signs of labor to get in touch with the vet as it could mean the beginning of eclampsia. Watch her for signs of weakness and tremors. Hope all is well and you have your new pups soon.

Watch her very closely as Tami says. It never hurts to call your vet. Concerning temps: By now, you should be taking her temp 2 times a day, more if you like. There will be fluctuations, (It's when they stay that low it's time) That's why you want to take them often to get a good baseline established, which I'm sure you have. I find temps are lower in the morning and higher in the evening. Best of luck, please let us know how she's doing.

So far no babies her tummy has been upset alittle. She has thrown up a few times but does not seem to be feeling bad other than an upset tummy. I really look for them to be born tonight. I am watching every move she makes and will until she has them. I don't think it will be long.

No puppies yet. Her temp has gone back up to 100. She is feeling fine and her babies are moving around so i just assume she had an upset tummy. She is due anytime now though. I'm losing alot of sleep as I watch her every night. I'll let you know I don't think its gonna be long though.
