I am not sure if you own dogs with Chelsea Nimar in the peds, planning to buy them or planning on breeding to one with the line. The reason I am asking is that if your question is about dogs you have bought or planning to buy, the breeder you are dealing with would perhaps know more about the line.

I can't help you there, I don't know that line at all. If you knew what State Chelsea Nimar was in it might help to locate someone who knew of the breeder and what the dogs were like. If you like I can ask some of the long time breeders I know to see if I can dig up someone who knew the line.

I can only tell you from a book what I know or can see. Maybe it will help you in your search. Chelsea Nimar was a show kennel out of Dallas Texas, the owners name was Nina Mcintyre. For Keeps was a son of Finders Keepers, both Champions. For Keeps was soft coated it looks like. Actually there are several puppy pics and a couple adult pics in the old book I have. ALL of the puppies and adult pics out of that kennel had pretty heads and good earsets (with an exception) but ALL the dogs pictured were soft coated. I think that was fairly common back in the day, tho you might ask Pat if this statement is fairly accurate. Hope that helps a little

I should add that it is just my opinion all the dogs were soft coated. I like the heads but then again someone else might not LOL. Sometimes the dogs had not so cute heads back then, times have changed. I do not breed or show so it is only my observations. Last edited by diva pup; 07-19-2007 at 03:59 AM.

| I know about Chelsea Nimar, since I had a dog with their lines. Yes, Nina owned it and she was from Texas. Her husband was a photographer and there are some great pictures around oif their dogs. Check out - The Book of Yorkshire Terriers, by Joan McDonald Brearley. They had compact body, straight coat and all Chesea Nimar had cute faces, small ears and great earsets, Thicker coats and can have a tentency to be darker. The gold was usually a soft coat. My Foxfire always had a thumbprint, but what a great topline and bone structure - very nice! Behind them was usually Mayfair. Chelsea Nimar were beautiful dogs! I hope this helps. T. | Here are some photos of my Foxfire. This is from the early 80's. In the photos I have his topknot pulled a little tight. We did not puff them out back them. Our bows were not as fancy either back then. LOL T. Last edited by topknot; 07-19-2007 at 04:17 AM. |

I have to ask,,, you say the tan was soft? What about the blue? Is it possible to have just soft tans? I ask because I have a dog I always thought was like that, his blue texture is so much better than his tan..

Oh, just wanted to add - Foxfire had a great personality. He also loved to chew on my fingers and toes. His coat was okay to oil, but never wrap. T.
