| Whelping, Do All Yorkie's Temp.s Drop 2 around 98??? Below is Tiffanie's temp. chart from her 1st litter (She went outside all the time and had 4 babies all healthy) and now this litter from the 1st day I started taking them. Do All Yorkie's temps stay @ 98 or right around that right before they go to whelp? Take a look @ her Temps. with this litter they have been so different. I know every litter is different. Keep in mind with this litter she hasn't been outside @ all since 10 days ago today, she has been on lamanate (Sp) flooring and in her baby bed in air a conditioning room (Living room, kitchen has the air conditioner and a fan pointing in the living room.) As of last night I've put her in our whelping room which is a middle bedroom with NO direct air, no fans & it has carpet and is a lot warmer in the in the room alone it's 80 degrees, our whelping box and our whelping supplies and I sleep on the floor in there with her every night on 2 foam mattresses, she slept on them with me last night, I usually have her in her BIG HUGE carrier but not last night thought she needed to be out to be able to sleep in her whelping box. I put a gate up @ the door so she can't get out but can see me during the day. So my question is with her temp being like in the 99 range and then going up & down this week will it steady it's self to close to 98 or ?? or slowly drop as her whelping time draws nearer? | Looks like she had a dip yesterday but it didn't stay down. Other things can effect her temp as well. Does she have any discharge or seem to be in any discomfort? Roxie's deliveries have all been different so just keep an eye on her. First stage labor can be pretty long so it gives you time to be ready to catch a pup when they come. Let us know how it's going.

| Ive heard that some won't hardly dip at all. Usually they will go into the 98's, mid or low. Right now 99.0 would look pretty good, I know you've been waiting a long time. Keep us updated! |

| 99% of the time mine dip to about 97 and then it's time. I've noticed that it goes up and down about 3 days before and then drops to 98 and then 97 right before whelping. |

| About 1 week before my girls due date I start taking their temps. To this date, and 5 litters later, their temps have never changed before they gave birth. I even talked to my vet about this and he said this usually happens, but not always. SO...I just watch now and watch for other signs that they are about to give birth.
