Want to breed my baby I have a six month old Yorkie male, and I was thinking about breeding him. He is papered, and I was just wondering if anybody has any tips or knows anybody with a female looking for a stud. To me, Noah (my baby) has perfect coloring. I will soon have pictures to show him off. I live in Illinois, let me know if you are of interest!

Have you thought about what you might be taking on? Your male can very well become a marker and you will lose your family pet. Most responsibe breeders that I know, would not use an strange, unproven male. What size are his ancestors? What health testing has he had? Has there been any of the major genetic problems in his family? PSS? LCP disease? LP's? cardiac problems? skin disease or allergies? The owner of the female is taking major chances in breeding a female and there are always chances for really sad outcomes. I would suggest that you ask your dog's breeder if you could use him with one of their unrelated females..

I am unsure what I would like to do. I love my baby, and probably will just end up getting him fixed.

It is evident you want to do what is best for your boy and I apologize for not acknowledging that fact. I am so passionate about these boys who are nice pets and are just more than we could imagine and then after one breeding turn into the boy from H-E double toothpicks. My boys are my pets and I am closer to them most of the time than I am to my girls..BUT, I have had to make peace with the fact that my kitchen and family room will reek of pee or my boys will be in belly bands and I will be changing diapers the rest of their/my life.
