| Yorkie Breeder in Devore, CA? Hi, I'm a new member here. My name is Joy. I've been researching Yorkies for a long time. I'm a long time lurker. Anyway, I'm finally ready to have a puppy and have been searching for a good breeder. I've called every So Cal breeder on the YTCA list as well as the YTCLA list. So far this is what I've found out: JEM's Yorkies won't be breeding until December Bejaze won't be breeding until Late Summer Arrtell has 3 pregnant right now, but their prices are really high! The rest aren't breeding any time soon or too far for me. I found a hobby breeder in Devore. I emailed her. Her name is Lonnie and she has 3 (2 males and 1 female) available in July. She doesn't have a website, but she seemed very nice on the phone. I'm going to take a drive down to San Bernadino to take a look. My questions are: 1. Has anyone heard of her? 2. What questions should I ask? 3. What should I look for? I just want a Yorkie puppy to love and spoil! |

| Yeah most seem to be breeding in the late summer here! Which works out for me since I want a Yorkie in December/January! Anyway, the questions I asked the breeders I talked to were these: Quote:
Also, a someone here recommended www.worldkennelusa.com to me (she got her puppy from there). The breeder has puppies available right now in LA. I talked the breeder on the phone and she is very nice, I'd drop her a line and check her out. Last edited by maybeiloveyou; 05-20-2007 at 03:18 PM. | |

| Thank you for the recommendations! I'll be sure to check that site out and keep the list with me when I go visit the breeder. |

| No problem! Also, to look for: - Are the puppies kept in the house with the family, or are they separated? - Are the puppies playful and healthy? Do a lot of them seem fearful or shy? Do they have discharge around their eyes, dirty fur, etc.? - Is the dam (mother) on site? There should be no reason that the mother would not be on site with the pups. The mother shouldn't be aggressive. She may be somewhat wary because you're a stranger. The sire isn't on site only when a stud service was used. - Is the overall environment clean? Are there any weird smells? Hope that helps some. Good luck! You'll find the furbaby of your dreams soon . |

| If your aren't in any hurry, I highly recommend Bejaze Yorkies. Linda has been breeding and showing for a long time and has an impecable reputation. she makes sure the puppies are tested and well cared for. To date, all the puppies she has sold are all still living and healthy. They don't come cheap. I think she was asking $2,600. for the females. It's well worth the investment. |
