| Need opinion fast ok guys this is my problem. I have been looking for a yorkie for awhile well I was contacted by email from a lady where I live that said she has a 1 yr. old registered female who had puppies about 2 wks ago and her nipples didnt pop out enough so they are having to feed the puppies. Anyway she is selling the mother. Isn't to early to take the mother away from the puppies? What else could be going on with this female that they want to get rid of her so early? I am going to call her today about the momma, what questions should I ask? I just dont know if I should get this dog or not. Help!

Something doesnt' sound right...Although I have never heard of such a thing I guess it could be possible...weirder things have happened but, I dont believe this. IF...this is true why would she want to seperate the Mom from her puppies...Sounds like a scam to me. There have been breeders that have had to bottle feed puppies before but, never got rid of the Mom. If I were you I'd keep looking.

| It does sound kinda strange. I am not sure if she is a breeder or not. I hope not but you never know. I feel bad for the momma and her puppies, man! I was going to call her today and try to get info on the vet that she takes the dog to. hopefully she goes to the vet.

| If her story is true she is probably just interested in keeping her if she can produce pups and nurse them and since she can't she doesn't want her. How sad....

| It is sad that is why I am so confused as to what I should do. I would love to take her out of a bad situation but I need her to be healthy and of course would get her fixed. What about the puppies? I hope they will be ok. my husband was concerned about and older dog being able to ajust to a new family but I think dogs can ajust quickly.

| I think you should go look at her, maybe get some answers to your questions from the current owners. She should adjust well, she's only a year old, really still a puppy. Let us know what happens.

| So sad...how competely irresponsible on her part! That is insane that she is taking the momma from those babies!!! It sounds like she needs someone to rescue her, but then again, be careful of what you might be getting into (health-wise). I don't get how someone can have such little compassion..... Tammy |

| Well ladies I talked to the owner about and hour ago. I asked her about her health and she said she is fine I asked about her shots and she said well I got her from a friend but I think she just needs her 1 yr old shots b/c she just turned 1 on april 15. She also said that she has a chihuahua that had babies and the 2 the yorkie had is being nursed by the other dog now. she said she is spoiled and she cooks her chicken to eat b/c she wont eat dog food unless you hand feed it to her. So I am just not sure. she said she wanted to make sure she went to someone who would not breed her. I might get to see her today.

Maybe, since it so important to her, she should pay for half of her spay surgery (spaying her before going to a new home, would have been the best, but it doesn't sound like she plans to do that). Tammy | |

| I know it is sad that she is being passed around. when she said something about wanting her to go to a home that would not breed her I told her as soon as my lab made 6 mths she go spayed so she nerver went into heat b/c I didnt want any of that resposibility of her having babies and she said she had plans to spay her but Im not sure why she never did. The poor dog just made a yr this april and has allready had 2 puppies.
