| breeders i would like some assistance i have a litter that i have advertised for deposits, they are yorkie poms and i have had a few inquiring but this guy called yesterday that stated he wants to open a business full time called yorkie palace in his back yard!!! and he wasnt 4 or 5 pairs of yorkies to breed and make money from and wants my male, well i really didnt discuss a whole lot with him he in my opinion was nuts. my puppies are 3 weeks old he wanted to know how active they were and their health, I said they are 3 weeks old they are just begininng to walk!! he wants to socialize the puppy in the house until he is old enough to breed then place him outside with the other breeders basically i dont want to sell to this man! and i know he is really intersted because i just lowed the price he is calling me back to back im not answering the phone....i dont want to have a nasty conversation, i want my dogs indoors, and this is stated in my contracts for them..how to i turn this person away!!! he knows nothing about the breeds one of his is 2lbs and he stated my sounded big at 6lbs, i stated you do not breed teacups or for teacups your breed for standard which is 4-7lbs. when i told him they were mixed with pomeranian (the grandparents) he thought it was a large dog he didnt know what a pom was. he worries me for future dogs, really...(i know that not everyone knows all breeds, but still he has no experience or knowledge) it was all about money please help |

| Simply tell him you do not sell to breeders, but thank him for his interest and wish him the best of luck finding what he is looking for. End of conversation. No nastiness. No problem. |

| His intentions are clear and atleast let you know upfront. It is up to you to find great homes. What do you mean how to turn him away? Tell him NO!

| In my opinion you should not be selling mixed dogs for breeding anyway and I wouldnt sell him anything. Sounds like all he cares about is starting a little puppymill and not caring what he uses to breed as long as it makes him a buck. I would just tell him your dogs are for families that want a pet and are not for breeding and if he gets mad, so what. Last edited by CO_yorkie_momma; 04-23-2007 at 08:07 AM. |

| first, your babies are too young to take deposits on. next, they are your babies and yours alone. you have the right to sell or not sell to whomever. just tell him, 'sorry, but i don't think that sounds like a good situation to put my baby in. Thanks for calling and hang the phone up before he draws you into any further conversation. you always have the right to refuse to sell someone. if he gets mad, then let him. |

You need to assess your potential buyers very carefully. Have a contract and get references. Are you planning on breeding your mix again?

| I would tell him exactly why you won't sell to him. Who cares about hurting his feelings or anything, I'm sure he's not going to even care about his future dogs, so I wouldn't care about him. Definitly sounds like he will be a puppy mill. When you do sell your pups, make sure to do a spay/nueter contract so they don't end up w/ anyone like him.

| I think You should tell him you are selling the pups on a spay/nuter contract. That way no one buys these pups and breeds them to a Yorkie and trys to sell their pups as FULL Yorkies. Good luck with this man. and finding your pups their forever home. Do you have pics od them?

BANNED! | Personally I would just tell him that I'm not comfortable in selling him one of my puppies. I would tell him thank you for your interest in one of my puppies, but I have decided against selling a puppy to you. Then politely hang up and go take a hot bubble bath and de-stress!!! |

| Just my opinion, but, run......Guy sounds like a wacko. I don't take deposits until pups are 8 or 9 weeks when they are ready to be viewed.....I won't take a deposit for any dog sight unseen.
