Question about bottle feeding... I have been bottle pups every 4 to 6 hours since they were 4 days old. They are doing great! They are 2 weeks old now...is it safe to drop to every 8 hours?

i wouldn't. When I had to bottle feed, I fed every two hours for the first week. Day and night. Then as the puppies grew, i dropped to three hours and if their belly feels full, I do four hours. i would never, ever drop to once every eight hours on a two week old puppy. i know it is tiresome but they need to be feed every four hours at least. I don't know if everyone will agree but that's the way I have done it, based on what I have learned.

.....i would agree - 8 hours between feeds for a 2 week old pup is too long. .....you are doing great, and keep up with the feeding every 3-4hrs....it'll be worth it in the end to have healthy happy puppies ! Debra x x x x

Thank You! I've been doing every 5 hours day and night now for about a week and they are growing like weeds, but here latley they don't seem to be hungry after 5 hours so I wait an hour and try again. Then they will eat but not as much as they usually do...? That is why I asked if it was maybe time to wait longer!? I'll keep with what I am doing! If it ain't broke don't fix it! LOL
