| I think they can start at 9 months, but please be sure to read up on breeding and ask away (there's quite a few breeders here) in case any problems arise! |

| Yes, Please wait until her second heat, usually around 1 1/2 yrs old. Also bring her to the vet to get a check up before, She might be to small to deliver puppies. And when you finally do mate her please make sure the male is smaller. Smaller male more likely to have small babies. |

| It can be either I cant decide that only the pups can. All Yorkies look the same at birth but when they get older you might be able to see. |

| I understand what your saying. But if you use a larger male than the puppies can be bigger and thats were she (your dog) might have trouble giving birth. |

| Its always the best to use a smaller male that way you know the pups wont be to big if you have already used a larger male I would take the female to the vet around when she is do to have a x ray on the puppies to make sure. |

| How can you tell if a Yorkie is close to having her babies? I have a yorkie/silkie mix and we bred her with a pure-bred yorkie. We think she took on the 23rd of November of last year and we think it is almost time for her to have her puppies. We noticed that she is getting more loveable *like that was ever possible lol* and she is licking us a lot. I was wondering what else to look for to see when she is going to have her pups. Any help will be appreciated! |

| I tried mating my yorkie and they tied in Oct. I thought she was pregnant, She had all the symptoms, Nipples getting larger, laziness(sleeping all the time) more loveable, morning sickness(some dogs get it) So I brought her to the vet about 3 weeks before she would have given birth and nothing!~! Guess she had a False pregnancy, Any way the only real way to tell is a visit to the vet. And I suggest that you do so, That way if there were to be any complications the vet would see them before it actually happens. Good luck keep us posted.

| I have never heard of a pregnant dog getting a rash, Has she had it long? Is it bothering her? Sorry, But if it doesn't go away soon I'd seek professional help.
