characteristics, temperament and appearance I have someone asking about these 3 things. How do I answer her? How do I judge these things? Is there some site I can go to that will have many, many suggestions as to what to look for? How to phrase my answers? Please help, Sylvia Oh, I forgot, she's also asking about head size. Why would someone ask about head size? Has anyone here heard of someone asking about head size?

questions You can answer these questions...tell the person what the dog looks like as type, size, structure, color, texture, ear size, leg, personality, etc.. As to head...does it have a small, round apple shaped head, terrier, meduim..etc some heads are oversized for the body..not fond of that..

type When a breeder uses the term..type or typey it is a dog that runs true to the standard..not overly long or lanky..but short backed, square, smaller features as oppose to a larger terrier type...you can use the word type to descibe the overall appearance...but when you heard a breeder say they breed "to type"..they mean as close to the standard look as possible.
