| Heat question Bellas last heat was in November, prior to that it was April. Can you guestimate her next heat cycle? I was thinking another 7 months and probably June, but somebody else told me would probably be sooner than that. Any thoughts??

| Like humans their cycles can very for each individual. Anywhere between 6 - 9 monthes is the norm. She could go every 7 monthes.

| 10 monthes old for the first heat seems to be a common age, but it can vary from 6 - 12 monthes.

| I have 2 females that are sisters & they didn't hit their 1st heat until they were 20 months. Will it take that long for them to come into their 2nd heat? |

| They may have experienced what is called a Silent Heat prior to the one that was visible...it does happen with some females. 2nd heat is unpredictable.....anywhere from 8-10months after the 1st heat. Some females are like clock work every 6 months, others 1 a year...

| Well now I am really baffled. My Bijou just had her first heat cycle. Maybe the liar puppymill that I got her from is telling the truth for her birthday. According to the puppymiller she is 8 1/2 mos. old. The vet, back when I got her estimated her age to be 12 weeks at the time (instead of 18 like the puppymill birthday suggests).

| They can have their first heat as early as 6 monthes old. Thanks Mary, I was going to suggest silent heat as well. Sometimes their cycles don't even out until after they've had their first litter. They are all individuals and the numbers are only averages, variations do occur.
