| Mommy Had 3 Babies: ?? Re Green Discharge Last Night She Had 3 Large Babies. This Is Her Third And Last Litter. Her Other Litters She Had 5 W No Complications. But This One Was Different. There Was Alot Of Green (light And Dark) Discharge (i Guess That Is What You Would Call It). I Called The Er And They Stated It Was The Afterbirth. I Came Onto Yt And Searched Green Discharge. It Just Stated If It Is Green Call The Vet But No One Ever Mentions What This Is. Can Someone Give Me Some Insight On The Green Discharge. Btw Mommy And Babies Are Doing Awsome. All Boys Weighing Approx 5.5-6.0 Ozs

| I would take her to a vet right away. Could be another puppy in there, They will probably give her an oxytocin shot to get her to push whatever it is out whether it ids afterbirth or whatever. Usually a greenish discharge is a problem which is why you need to take her to a vet. I am a vet tech so I see this type of thing a lot!

| Did she have a green discharge before any pups were whelped ?? Could mean a dead pup maybe was not expelled with the birth process. Did you count all placentas??? If she is having the discharge after ..she could be expelling a left over placenta. To be on the safe side I would take her in and get a shot to clean her out. If any afterbirth is left... it could set up a Uterine infection. Most Vets want to wait and see if she will expel it on her own. Don't take the wait and see game...Tell them you want the shot. |

| get to the vet Lisa, you need to take her in. Silk had a huge amount of green discharge and even vomitted green. Had i not got her to the vet when I did, he said she would have died. there was a dead puppy. This is the only experience I have had. i know for a fact that in my case, it was not normal BUT this happpened when she was in labor not after she had the C-Section. Congratulations on the new babies. |

| i just got back from the vet. she got her shot. he stated the green discharge is not to be concerned about unless it comes out 1st (before any babies are born ) and a puppy has not been delivered w/n two hours. he said if the afterbirth (which is the green/black) comes out first w/o a puppy then the puppy could be still born. but since all the puppies came out, the discharge is fine. whew!!!!!!!!! he also said i probably never saw it before b/c she ate it as it was coming out.

| Forgot so say CONGRATS... and YES there is nothing like helping to bring those wiggley little ones in to the world. The hardest part is letting them go, when it's time for them to go to there forever home... |

| My Takara had one litter, everything looked fine. The second was all this green stuff, and I rushed her to the vet, and he told me to calm down this was perfectly normal. All her pups were just fine. |
