| Ai I know breeding is a touchy situation for some (and so I have read) BUT I am interested in having my four year old Yorkie (whom I LOVE LOVE LOVE) AI. She has never been bred before and I would love to have her have some babies. I am not interested in debate but if someone knows of a resource to find frozen sperm, please post. |

| I know that I've seen some posts on puppyfind.com for frozen sperm. I think some of them ask for your dog's pedigree before sending it. I'm not sure where else to look, but you could always start there. |

| Just a quick note: If your female is AKC... I did research it a while back and AKC will charge more for registering the puppies if you use any frozen or artificial means! Just something you might want to look into first. It could be cheaper in the long run to use a male in your area unless you are looking for a spec. pedigree. Just check out AKC.org for all the info unless your dog isn't AKC then I have no idea about the other registries if they do the same or not.

| Thanks! Thanks for responding. I will check out puppyfind.com. My Yorkie is AKC registered and bought her from a breeder in Colorado. I am not sure if she has great lineage. My Yorkie is 6 to 7 pounds. But anyway, you don't see Yorkies in my state. I am going to do more research and get her papers out. I did see the 800 (ouch) frozen sperm on this site..and may still consider it..who knows. But thank for responding, we will see what happens. |

| I have been reading up on this very topic. What I found was that most females will take better from a real stud rather than from frozen semen. You might be better off using a male dog near you. Just so you don't have to try over and over again. I think if you do use frozen sperm you have to have a vet do the process in order to register the pups. Good luck to you . |

| I know my shepherd breeder has done that with one of her females before. It turned okay but as posted earlier many questions were asked about her lines. Good luck |

| If you have weighed all the issues and still plan to use frozen sperm, I would suggest you make sure there is a vet in your area who will do the insemination and the cost. That is usually an additional cost above the cost of the sperm and shipment..OR, your mentor might have the expertise to do it.. |

| Stud It would be so much easier if she had a boyfriend to treat her right, you know share doggie biscuits. Where do you find studs? Vets? I know you have to be careful that they don't have sexually transmitted diseases. How do you actually get them together? Does she stay at their place/mine? My Yorkie would freak out if she was not with me. It would not be worth it at all if she had to be gone because I know she would be tramatized. |

Just seeing how Destiny is when my daughter leaves to go to the store or to church she gets so depressed.. She mops around the house like she has lost her best friend for life! Spoiled, spoiled babies!! Joy |
