| I need some advice Ok...So I have wanted a yorkie for who knows how long!!! I have just now finished up school and now have time for a new little baby. I found one online and it seemed like a good breeder....I had researched and heard good things. Well I got my little doll on a tuesday and to make a LONG SAD story short it died on the next sunday of PARVO ....The breeders had agreed to pay the vet bills and were very helpful through the whole thing. They had tested all of their dogs and had told me none of them had it...so they were thinking that maybe the pup had tested positive for parvo because it had had a vaccination just 6 days before...so maybe a false-negative??? I dont know...I do know that that was a HORRIBLE week for me. It is amazing how fast you fall in love with those little babies. Well they told me they were fully prepared to send me my money for the dog as well as the vet bills which added up to around 2000 dollars, but I had already told them in an email that I know it wasnt thier fault that the dog died and I honestly thought great things of them because the few days I did have the pup it was a WONDERFUL DOG and In the future I would want another pup from them. Well I talked to my vet and they told me about titer testing and all and they agreed to do that on my next dog so if it were PARVO that had killed the first one it would be able to survive in the environment even though I have cleaned it a million times with bleach and A-33. Well the first problem I had was that they had just told me they had another pup for me but I didnt get to choose or anything, I have asked for a pic three times now and still no response. I am starting to get worried that maybe they DONT have a pup for me or maybe they will get one from someone else for really cheap and still make money off of me.....What should I do....Should I just ask for a full refund????? I need some advice. |

Did you get a contract and what does it state?? Money back or replacement ? Save all your Vet bills, Vets findings, Phone bills and E-mails. Have you send her a cert. letter from your Vet stating the reason why the pup died?? If she does not have a replacement pup now. You might ask her if she would just refund your money so you can find one somewhere else. But, If the contract states replacement only..you may have to wait until the next available pup is ready. I hope everything work out for you.. | |

| I'm sorry to hear your story. You can't help but fall in love the minute you pick them up. Yorkies make you feel more like a new mother than a new dog owner.I'm sorry for your loss.I don't know what I would do, but it seems like they have been so honest and forth comming with trying to pay the bills. You have to respect that. It seems like so many of the posts are of just the opposite. But I know I would want pictures at least if you don't live close by. |

| thank you for the advice you two...there was and is a one year gaurantee of course. I did send the EVERYTHING...every receipt, the autopsy report, every document they vets had...she had been to two of them. I know they have been great through this WHOLE thing. People on YT actually have said lots of GOOD things about them. Maybe I am just worrying to much. But you know these days you kind of have to. The breeders were more than willing to pay the vet bills as well as the refund for the pup. But the pup I did have from them was GREAT...you could tell they had spent EXTENSIVE time with the pup everyday. I know the dont breed just for the money. The dog was PERFECT. It just was so sad how my life changed so much with her in it and then was taken away so fast . I am not going to "BASH" the breeders...YET!! lol..jk. I know its probly just me worrying to much. THank you though! |

| Wow this is very sad. Do you know the breeder well enough to trust them if they say no other dogs of theirs tested positive for parvo. Maybe they arent being truthful so the blame isnt put on them for selling a sick pup? I dont know if I would get another pup from them or go over there in case they did have parvo, you could be bringing it to your house. Maybe to be on the safe side, you should get a puppy that has had all of its shots in case you still have some parvo in your house. I hear that it can hang around for several months. I hope they will refund you the money but alot of breeders will just replace the puppy but if they do it should be comparable to the quality of the dog you origionally purchased. |

| The longer you wait she may change her mind about covering anything since you had said it wasnt her fault. Was the puppy throwing up, diareah, etc. Or did you just find it dead. A vaccination would make the test be positive. |

| NO... I did not just find it dead. See two days after I got it I of course had an appointment with the vet, but that same day around one o clock the puppy had diarrhea. I was glad we were going to the vet anyways so maybe we could address the problem. Well the pup tested positive for coccidia and they had given me Albon and I though that was her only problem. Well the next day I noticed she had NO appetite. At one point she wouldnt even take her nurtri cal which from the min. I got her she LOVED. So I had called the breeders that night to discuss the problem and they had told me to cook some chicken and white rice for her. So I did and man!!! She LOVED it. So after that I was feeling relieved that she was eating and drinking cause I know how easily it is for small dogs to get dehydrated. THe next day (day4) I woke up around 7 with her and made her some more chicken and rice cause she wanted nothing to do with her food. Well she had nothing to do with that so right then I knew something was up. She was still active, NOT REALLY ACTIVE, but not just laying there but she did look pitifull! WEll we had went back to sleep for maybe an hour then I had woke up to take her outside and she then had diarrhea but this time with blood in it. SO I took her straight the the vet! They kept her overnight. THe next morning the vet had hope but she had passed away on day 5 .....So I know that if it were indeed PARVO then yes my house is COVERED. The dog they are going to send me, well that they are suppose to has been titer tested and has had I believe 4 sets of shots, maybe three? I know the titer testing is a SURE SURE THING, but It is a good indicator and the vet had said she would be able to with stand parvo if it were in the environment. I am about to move in a month or two and might just wait! This parvo thing is CRAZY!!!! I would hate to ever have another case like this. I do not know the breeder WELL enough to actually say she will keep her word but I do have a lot of trust in her for some reason. They really have been great through this whole thing up until now. I mean I would THINK if it were parvo she wouldnt be selling multiple puppies on her website right now, but then again, Who knows. I have heard so many horror stories! |

| Hi. I'm sorry you went through this. I think though that you may be giving this breeder more credit then they deserve. The fact that you pup had coccidia and parvo sends up a red flag on my end. I'm not sure what to tell you about the rest but I'd be hesitant in taking another pup from them. I really would just get my $$ back and look for a reputable breeder or even perhaps a rescue. People here on YT can help you in locating a better breeder. Just my .02. I hope it works out for you and again I'm sorry for what you went through. Elaine. |

You are fortunate that the breeders feel bad enough about it to offer a refund or another puppy. |

| I know that parvo and coccidia can be picked up anywhere....BUT....parvo has a two week incubation period. THe pup started to show signs of sickness two days after I had her. There is no possible way she picked it up when she got me. That is just impossible. Well that is what I have been told by my vet. I am no DR. though! But I have called them numerous times and the last time I talked to them they told me they wanted to wait and give the dog one more set of shots to be sure so it would be about seven more days, which would be this sat.! But I have wrote them like 3 or 4 emails asking for a picture and no reply! They update their website everyday though. SO I know they are able to access the email! |

| well that is funny....because FL. is where the dog is from. I have looked in to the legal side of this as well! I know that FL. has a puppy lemon law! That was very suprising to me! |

| HMMM I think everyone is hanging this breeder without even knowing them. It was stated they offered to pay for all vet bills and replace or refund ... so what more are they supposed to do ???????? I think they seem very decent to me I also think it very responsible they want to wait another round of shots to feel safer about letting it go since one dog has already died. I can understand bad feelings if the breeder had been mean... but it seems they are doing their part to me There could be many reasons they have not sent a pix yet.maybe "and I'm guessing" it is to make sure that pup is fine before letting a new owner get excited or aTTACHED TO IT . She said they have kept writing contact with her , so I say give it time. They said next week..... so why not wait and see??????
