| Age to dock tail? Hi. My Lexxie just had two beautiful puppies two weeks ago... one boy and one girl. We already have people to buy the pups (even though I don't know how I'll ever let them go!) I was just wondering at what age do you usually get there tail docked? Is that something I should have done before they go to their new home? Thanks. |

| People usually have them done anywhere between 3 - 7 days old. I do mine at 6 days per recommended by Ann Seranne. You are at 2 weeks - ouch! Better get this done soon so the talils are not as thick. Don't forget dewclaws too! Better off as not to get caught in carpets or blanlets. T. |

| The pups got dewclaws and tails docked at 3 days. The vet put a couple of stitches in each tail.

| 3-5 days generally,. 5-7 if the pup is really small. Definately within the first week. At 2 weeks, they are too old, IMO. |
