| Electronic banking to pay for puppy? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- a person has been writing me all day from my website to buy one of my puppies. She and her husband will drive up from Florida to get it. Clencher came in the last email. she said, "I do all my banking electronically. Could I notify my bank and then they would send you a check by mail". I'v never heard of such a thing. Have any of you had any dealings with this. I am so afraid of getting scammed that I told her it wouldn't be acceptable to me. Plus, she woul pick the puppy out when she gets here and then decide which one to buy. i guess she would notify her bank at that time and my puppy would be gone. The check would come days later. Sounds like a scam to me and my puppies ain't going anywhere till I have money in my hand. I cross posted this to see if any of you other breeders have had anything like this happen. thanks __________________ |

| No way would I take any money transaction where you get the money after she gets the puppy. She could cancel it and then you would be out the money

| I have never heard of such a thing either. Good thing your alert. Keep those little ones safe. It is amazing what people will do. An electronic transfer is immediate from one account to another. There is of course a Bank check but that is done immediately also from your account to a bank check. What will they think of next? Carol & Buddy |

| i can tell you right now, no. my husband use to be a bank manager and let me tell you, this is such a scam. you will get a ck, you deposit it, funds will be available to you in three days, then in 15 days......bam it hits you. the electronic ck is no good. they are gone w your baby. please advise them if they have the money, they can get cash. another thing to consider....they may try and give you more than what you are asking for and for you to refund them the difference n cash. just because they are driving to get the puppy, does not mean they can't have cash when they arrive.

| Cash is all I would accept from them too. Now My Breeder did allow me to pay with a check when I bought Jewels but I had already bought C hachi and she trusted me. If I was a breeder I would accept cash or paypal only

| Tell her to use her debit/ATM card and remove the cash from her account...either bring that to you in person or send you a U.S.Postal money order. Postal money orders are just like cash...take it to your post office and they will cash it for you, providing they have enough $$...but they can also verify it for you so you know it isn't stolen or fordged. If she doesn't want to do that have her get a cash advance on a credit card...you can do that at any bank. There are many, many ways to safely get cash to you...I wouldn't trust electronic banking for anything. |

| scam big time Dont do it. This is a scam, I have been contacted several times, I would only accept cash or Paypal, not even a money order, because those can be fake as well.

| I'd tell her she could take the puppy when the check clears the bank. If they are picking up the puppy in person there is no reason they can"t pay in cash. |

i did tell her i would take a US postal order. i didn't know the post office would cash it tho. At least you are saying they can verify it but by then, that would be too late also. This woman has strung me all day. First my price was too high, then she insisted on eight weeks. I told her no way would I come down and the very earliest they would leave would be ten weeks and most likely twelve weeks. Then she agreed to that and this electronic banking thing came up. I am about ready to tell her "Good luck on her ssearch" and forget it. especially now. I haven't heard back from her since I told her this deal was not acceptable to me. | |

| I think I would say good riddens to her. I think it is so tacky to ask you to come down on price. Never did I even consider doing that when I was looking for a yorkie. You are buyiing a living thing not a flea market item

Donating YT 30K Club Member | No way. ALso, she may ask for your bank account number and then you'd be in big trouble. WHne I got Cali I put 1/2 down by check when I went to see her at 6 weeks and the other 1/2 when we picked her up.

| If the money is in the bank why can't she just bring the cash and pay? I have never heard of this.

| I think you should stick to your guns. My husband has his own business as a farrier. We bill customers all the time. Some do the electronic checking, and I can say it *pardon me, sucks. Sometimes we get the checks very late. When you are dealing with a live dog, there's no way someone should expect you to accept electronic checking! She can just go to her bank and withdraw the cash, for crying out loud. That's how we paid for my baby. If you have money in checking, it's easy to just get the cash! Hope it all works out... btw, your babies are so so cute! deb |
