| Bile Acid Test What does this test for- liver shunt? Is it expensive to have done on puppies? |

| biel acid It tests for a potential liver problem..fees differ from area to area...most are less then $100. |

| It cost me 60 per puppy to have it done on my last litter of 3 pups at 10 weeks old. If the readings are very high in young puppies there is a good chance of livershunt, but to know for sure, further testing needs to be done. It only indicates that there is a problem with the liver. It does not show what the problem is, that is why you need to go with more testing. It is just the first step. |

| Is there such thing as a urine test for liver problems, such as Liver shunt?

| Yes there is a UBAT but its not readily available. |
