Help ! New Breeder need information ?

I think she's doing all she can up front to learn as much as she can. I'll do my best to answer questions of those that are truely interested in doing it right.

I know. SHe seems very with it... Im just glad tjhat there are ppl out there that just doesnt fly by the seat of their pants.

Ok! I'm going to ask you a question and you can PM me if you'd like with your answer? Have you had your male and female bile acid tested, eyes examed, legs x-rayed, etc all the precautionary testing before being bred. As a new breeder you might want to do this before breeding.

You don't know the many questions I asked my breeder and still do. I didn't go near a whelping box for about 4 years.......there is alot to learn. Of course she made learn genetics and know each pedigree backwards and forwards and what was behind each dog in the pedigree and so on and so forth.....

Mardelin: No I have not had them tested yet, But now that you have brought this to my attention I will make an appointment for them a.s.a.p. They will not be ready to breed until late next year. I want her to go thru a couple of heats before I breed her. should I get those tests done now or wait till later ? does it matter when I get them done ? I will have them done before I even breed them, but does it matter if she is a puppy or should I wait till she is a year ? I'm glad you dont mind the questions. I have looked at both of my puppies pedigree's and I am researching each dog to find out as much as I can. I am SSSSOOOO glad that you are here to answer questions.

They all should be done now. Now Smears should be done again on both of them just as she's coming into heat again.

Mardelin : Thank you for the advice. I will set up appointments for them right after Christmas. Their vet is gone until tuesday. i hope you know how much I greatly appreciate you !
