Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Breeding father to daughter?? Can you do this? Just don't seem right to me. I was looking at a male puppy in my area that is like that. I didn't buy it because it worried me.

| Nope! I found out that 2 males that I was looking at were bred that way, and I could not do it.

| Of course, it can be done, but in my opinion shouldn't. Here's a thread about why it shouldn't be done. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...ght=inbreeding |

| it is yucky but done a lot. Not as much as breeders used to do it tho. It was done to bring out the better qualities of a line. problem is, it can cause all the bad genetic stuff too. |

| After a certain age dogs do not know father from mother from daughter to son they just to the WOOPI... so please do not blame the poor doggies .. I would never do this but iI do know some that do. I would think the genes would get all screwed up and cause that genetic thing like Sugars Mom said. But I believe they do this with Gray Hounds for racing and Horses??? not sure just heard this years ago ... And if the Bad genes come out the animal gets euthanize

| yep, there are tons of horses euthanized cause they don't meet the standard. race horses and show horses. the colts are just killed. it's sickening. these little babies (ok, not so little!) would make really good pets and riding horses but they don't take the time to sell them. just kill them. omega |
