Curious, did you mean the x-ray would be $800.00 or an emergency C-section starting point? If it's the x-ray then you better find a new vet because I don't even want to think of what the C-section charges would be. Normal x-ray fees should be from $75 to $150.00 and they can actually save money in the long run because if they see that the puppies are too big and she can't deliver naturally you can have a scheduled C-section, which is a lot cheaper and less risks than one at 2 in the morning at an ER clinic.

By the way how much does she weigh?

It was either the xray or sono....I totally blocked out everything they had to say when she said $800 Maybe I'm crazy and she said 80 I swear it was $800 even though that sounds very odd. If it were an emergancy then I would but dayum.
The last time at the vet she was 12 lbs but I figure she averages about 8 she's not a tiny one that's for sure

Ya know what...I'm gonna call there and just ask ...again

I agree....Oh wow every day I feel more and more stupid for letting her get away from me and this happening....In any event I will have to borrow the money for emergency or non emergency at this moment we are strapped due to just buying this home and the holidays...

*Different subject** uuuuuuuuuggggg I really need to find another job and soon....I feel like that was such a waste of time and money the first time I took her to the vet.....They weren't very pleasent to me but nice to hermionie. They barely touched her actually come to think of it I never wanted to take her there at all, but the only other vet in town was booked up until Dec4 and by then I felt would be too late if in fact there may be something wrong with her. I pray to the doggy Gods that I do not have to deal with these people on an emergency situtaion,...

At approx. 10 pounds your chances for a natural delivery are good, unless the father (or the Mom's or Dad's background) is a lot bigger, but you still could only have one puppy and since they have so much room to grow in utero they do. Of course, just because the puppies are small enough for the Mom to deliver you can run into other problems like not strong enough contractions that won't show up until the time of delivery. Best wishes for a healthy easy delivery for both of you. Keep us updated.

P.S. An x-ray, not a ultrasound would be appropriate at this time, if you decide to go foward with one.

Oh, and do call some ER clinics and regular vets (some have ER services) to check some prices, they can vary tremendously from office to office. Also, I will add that I have found that lower prices do not mean less quality of services. In fact, my experience has been just the opposite because those vets that don't "rip you off" seem to be more concerned with the dog's health and not the money.

I put a few calls in earlier and left some messages I will be waiting for some callbacks tomorrow I guess. I am checking through the phone book and asking around to friends that have pets so I can make sure I check into all places near to us.
