| Should I be worried? OK I have a female that I put a deposit on. I have been trying to contact the breeder to let her know when I would like to pick my puppy (well, she is five months old) up. I have not been able to make contact with her in two weeks. I went up to see her on Sunday like I always do and she wasn't there. She doesn't return my calls, and it has been two weeks since I have seen her. I have talked to several people who know the breeder and they have all told me to not worry, just be patient, that she is very busy. I know she works a full time job and is hard to reach during the week, but we usually see her on Sundays. When should I start to worry?? Or I should say, am I just jumping the gun and being paranoid??? She doesn't return my calls....and I ger her voicemail and no one answers the house phone.

| Unless the breeder is having second thoughts about parting with the pup or she's sick she should be ready and happy to see the lil' one go to her new home. I know when I'm holding pups on deposit it's a liability on my head and I'm glad to complete the sale. I'd be tempted to leave a bunch of messages and even camp out on her doorstep until I got answers. I've had people begging to pick up their pups early but never had one go so late.

| What were the original arrangements? Were you to pick up the puppy at a specific week? If so and that has passed, I would be a little worried. If you drive out there again this Sunday and she is not there, I would leave a large note on her door to please call you ASAP as you are starting to worry. It is very unprofessional to not return calls, especially from a customer waiting to take her puppy home. But she may be having some crisis in her own family -- hard to say. I went through a couple of weeks that I could not deal with additional phone calls due to some health issues. There are lots of possibilities but it is high time she communicated now. Two weeks is long enough.

| Well she called me today. I had already called her work and found out she was off today, so I then called her cellphone again and she immediately called me back. She is the manager of a pet boutique and they were up in Detroit opening another store, which is why she wasn't returning my calls. I know this is true because the girl working at the store when I called had already told me before I talked to her. The date for pickup has not passed. There are some other circumstances that determine pickup, but it was just I hadn't heard anything at all in two weeks or seen Maddie. I told her I was worried and that after talking to her I felt silly for panicking, but she was really nice and apologised for worrying me. She could have atleast TOLD me she was going to be out of town! We had no set arrangement on when I would get her. My husband said I had to home Chewy before I could bring her home, so I put a deposit on Maddie with the agreement that we would pick her up once Chewy went to his new home. So now it is arranged for me to get Maddie on the 27th and I get to go see her on Monday. In fact, she is taking her to work with her on Monday so I can stop in and see her while my husband is at his new job orientation.

| I should also add, she is only holding her this long because my husband said I had to use the money from Chewy to get her (the big meanie!) and the lady was very understanding and even held her the first few weeks with no deposit. She said she was more concerned with her getting a good home than she was about getting fast money.

| Not taking your calls? Not returning your messages? I would definately go in person and get to the bottom of it!
