| Attorney General's Reply Re: Jeff Dane I just received this letter . I hope no-one just gives up on this issue and continues to write letters and make phone calls! Dear Sir or Madam: Thank you for contacting the Office of the Attorney General. Your letter has been forwarded to the Consumer Protection Division (CPD) for review. CPD monitors business practices and determines priorities for enforcement. When appropriate, CPD takes action to stop violations of Texas consumer protection laws. We appreciate your assistance in this effort. The county or district attorney has original jurisdiction to pursue alleged violations of the law. Therefore, you may wish to share your concerns about alleged violations of the law with your local prosecutor's office. You may also wish to contact your city's health code inspector or animal control officer to relay your concerns. Again thank you for writing. | Too bad they can't do more. To me that looks like an automated response.

| Federal? I might be totally off base here, but if he's shipping sick puppys across state lines, doesn't that fall under federal fraud statutes? |

I'm sure it does. But there would need to be people on the other end who recieved them to testify to that. The only problem I see with all of this is that Mr. D himself is well known for reading and posting here as alot of different screen names. My advice to all of you truly wanting to do something about this and ANY puppy mill is to keep your things "private"! If you let known what you are doing..you are only giving them a heads up on the matter. Not trying to poop on anyone's party here...just trying to think ahead , realistically. Think about this , please. Last edited by ButterflyYorkie; 10-20-2006 at 10:37 PM. | |
