Default Is it normal

For the girls to sleep a lot when they're in heat?

Ollie doesn't seen interested in playing at all. this is the first week of her first heat.

Also for those of you who have both the the male and the female, do they get upset when they are separated. I put a gate up between rooms, and they both keep whining and scratching at the gate.

I won't rely on a gate when we aren't at home, I will crate them, and I crate them at night. But they sure don't like that gate between them.

Aw poor Ollie! I bet it is normal for them to sleep more but that is just my quess not based oon experience. I do have a male and a female though and no they dont like to be separated. Especially Jewels, she will cry or bark even at the groomers when the groomer trys to groom them.

I was wondering the same thing, my Tinkerbell went into heat last week and all she wants is to rest it seems, she will go in her crate by herself or she wants to be carried around And I have a male maltese and i'm having the hardest time keeping them apart

normal....and you can't rely on the gate even when you are home...dogs that never climbed a thing in their entire lives can be up and over and tied in the time it took you to throw a load of wash in the dryer.

OH dear, thanks for the warning, so then you have to keep them behind closed doors. Man they are going to hate that.

Is this your little girls first heat? Are you planning to breed n the next one?

Well we can go through this together. I believe Ollie's started on Thursday. That is when I noticed a lot of licking and Chachi doing a lot of sniffing, but didn't notice any bleeding until Monday morning when I saw some in her bed..

I mader her a new pair of sani panties today. I'll need to make a couple more.

I feel so sorry for Ollie like maybe she needs some chocolate or something. I know it's a NO NO for dogs. But I know it always made me feel better. LOL
