Dray,
I mainly bought my dog just to get her out of there....once i saw the conditions I wanted to buy all the puppies and get them somewhere better! Nothing would make me happier than for him to go out of business. His kennel reminded much of that special "Dealing Dogs" that came on t.v. Horrible.

That's just disgusting how people can sleep at night doing that to puppies. I remember when I was looking for a yorkie I found his website. Glad I didn't buy one from him!!!

For those of you who have not had this pleasure, let me paint you a picture....Jeff Dane is very unprofessional. He answered the door in what looked like he had slept in, a shirt with holes in it and from what i remember boxer shorts or something like that. He was very unkempt and missing most of his teeth. Pretty much the epitome of redneck trailer trash. I purchased my first yorkie from him three years ago, and I knew very little about the breed, so I thought he sounded like he knew what he was talking about. I drove out there the next day only to be completely appalled at what I saw. He lives in a very nice house in the middle of nowhere. All the yorkies you see on his website are kept in his garage stacked in towers of crates. There is no heating or ac there and the smell in the garage almost made me fall over. Just imagine probably close to 100 yorkies in tiny crates stacked up crying and barking. It was heartbreaking. His "teacup" yorkies he keeps inside his house. This really upset me, however I had already driven 5 hours out there so I went ahead and purchased Heidi. Jeff told me this dog would not be over 6lbs. full grown. To this day, she is 15-20lbs. She needs to have patella surgery, one of her knee caps is slipping. Some of her dew claws were never removed, so she has a couple extra "toes" When I brought her home, I immediately took her to the vet only to discover that she had kennel cough. Thank God my baby is somewhat healthy today, and my heart goes out to those of you who have had worse experiences with sick puppies. This breeder must be stopped. I was shocked to see one dog he had, "Little Joe", that was literally 1lb.! The dog looked like a hamster or something! It had what looked like a humpback, and just looked like the most sickly dog I have ever seen. Jeff told me that was one of his stud dogs and that Jay Leno had offered him 11,000.00$ for that dog. He also told me that Oscar de la Hoya had bought dogs from him. I now see through all his lies. The man must have 200+ yorkies at his house, and when I asked to see the parents of my dog, he said he did not have them on the premises. He actually acted very offended and got defensive. What can we do to put this man out of business? My heart goes out to every puppy he has in that place. I am thinking of starting an anti-Jeff Dane website with information....anyone have any ideas?

Joanna
I was wondering if you could call the TV stations in Houston and maybe they would do a story about how horrible he treats his furkids. I know they have done some on other places that keep 75 cats and 65 dogs or something like that. Maybe that would work!? I think anything is worth a try. Even the Animal Cops on Animal Planet.........anything. He is such scum! All the Houston Yorkie owners should ban together and complain to the police. What on earth would happen to all of those poor furbabies? :-( So SAD!

This jerk is in the Houston area? Like I said before, I'd be more than willing to do some undercover work. I might cry myself to sleep afterwards, but hopefully it would be worth it.

There was another post started about another state enacting new laws forbidding the puppy mill practices. I've already emailed the Texas Attorney General and ask all YTers from Texas to do the same. I went back and tried to find the thread, but couldn't. Here's the email address, let's start a grass roots effort to put an end to Jeff Dane and others like him.

I hope you guys are able to help get something started to put his horrible breeding practices to an end. Even though I'm in Arizona, let me know if there's anything I can do to help...

Default Been There Also!!

I, also, have been to Jeff Danes place. Before I moved I lived in Grand Prairie. I went there only because I had heard so much about him. It is just as Joanna said!! There is no way to actually describe the deplorable conditions those poor babies and adults live in.
He is not in the Houston area. He is located just out of Bonham which is north east of Dallas, TX.
He is a pi** poor excuse for a human being!! Hatred would not even describe what I feel for him after seeing those furkids!
I don't know what can be done but he should be closed down LONG BEFORE NOW!
I have wondered if it was because he is out of city limits that they cannot touch him.
I would go along with anyone that finds out that we can do anything to have him investigated and closed!!!!!!

It sounds like the posse is getting a plan together. I sure hope you all can do something about him and not give up. I wish there was some way the rest of us could help.

Please keep us updated on what, if anything, you will do to help stop this man. I would be MORE than willing to adopt one of those poor babies or two if he gets shut down and they needs a good loving home to come to!

Ditto! However I understand that sometime someone may feel sorry for those puppies and it buys for pity. Anyway, I would not have bought from this person.
