| Swollen Mammary??? Ok guys... Have you seen this???? I'm taking her to the vet in the am.... its hard swollen.... she is not crying when I poke at it but she is not a cry baby.... what is it and should I be worried??? Is it no big deal??? Is this what I think it is... just a swollen mamary , infected?? maybe a bug bite gone bad? help me out guys.... any ideas... I don't know if I should go to the emg vet tonight or if it can wait....

| ok.... guys.... I have more to add..... Paris had milk leaking from ALL of her nips!!! She was in heat about 55 to 60 days ago.. I'm not really sure, I really did not think it was an issue since Gizmo was under wraps.... and she is thin.... Not Preggers looking at all!!!!!! Could this be a False pregnancy??

| Try putting her in the bath tub with warm water belly high. Let her bellly soak a few minutes and then dry her off with a hair dryer. The warmth might make the gland go soft. |

| I called her vet this morning and he said that as long as it is draining that she is ok... and to bring her in if it gets worse...... ???

| Call another vet! I showed my husband those pictures and he said it looks like mastitis to him...squeeze if you can and express some and see if it is chunky...chunky and smelly is mastitis.....hubby treated cows with mastitis before...

| Oh boy, I'd really like an update. Please, please post so we can know what is going on. I think she's pregnant. I'll keep checking back. My girl had pups 4 days ago (and a c-section) and just woke up with a swollen mammary. The pups weren't nursing off of the lowest 2 teets so I turned her on her back and took turns nursing all 4 of them from those 2. I did call the vet and the assistant said "warm compress". I am very eager to see how your girl is and hope all is well. |
