| How long after nursing will heat begin?? Ok, I have searched this site for this answer and am too tired to sit here all night so, our pups are 5 weeks, nursing has slowed down to 3 x a day. Dori began spotting today, and her vulva is swollen. This can't be another cycle beginning can it???

Donating YT 14K Club Member | It seems a little soon. My girl is 6 months from beginning of heat to beginning of heat. You sure it isn't just continued discharge?

| She hasn't spotted any this morning, but did see some on her bedding from last night, not anything heavy, just pink/brown. I'll just watch her and see if anything else happens, since its the week-end, if anything is to go wrong it will be in the next two days. Thanks

| I would think with the puppies only being 5 weeks it probably isn't a heat cycle, but you never know. It is definitely possible and really does sound like it. I would get her checked out to make sure nothing else is going on. I do personally know of a litter born on Jan. 19th and another litter born again at the end of July from the same mother. The first puppies were only like 4 months when the others were born (only about 2 months when impregnated) which is the fastest heat cycle I have ever heard of. |
