| Question on multiple bitches in heat Hey I was wondering are the yorkies like humans and when one has a heat cycle others usually follow. My Bridget is back in heat again, it has been 6 months from her last litter, I do not plan on breeding her agian this cycle for 2 reasons, a. she had a csection and I want a full recovery( i figure a year would be safe.) b. since the pups to be honest she has become a little heffer, She needs to lose about 2 lbs I think. However we have been waiting for Monroes 2nd heat to begin, can Bridgets cause Monroes to begin? or will it bee a few months still, I think it is due in 2. Thanks Marlee

| I asked my vet this question, when I first got my girls. She said that it takes a few cycles, but that yes, they could very well begin cycling together, or very close, at least. |

| I would say that, like humans, it may or may not happen. My MIL has a kennel and does tend to have a LOT of them go into heat together and ends up with quite a few litters at a time. However, not all of them do so she will still have some other litters every here and there. My Mom has 3 females and 2 of them went into heat at the same time. Both had pups. That was almost 2 years ago. One has had pups since then and the other has never gone into heat again. I know this is long, but I'm just saying that it will still be unpredictable. I have 2 that came in heat a week apart....I'll have to see if it happens again next time. My Mom's Yorkie that had a c-section last time is the one that hasn't come in heat again. |

| My 2 are within a week of each other now. Just thinking outloud now... I'm wondering if in a kennel environment with more dogs if that's why they aren't all together. But with a small situation, like with 2 or possibly 3 that it's more likely they will cycle together...
