| help breeders!!!!!!!!! Silk's water broke a few minutes ago and she was panting hard. Now she has just vomited a HUGE amount of dark green bile. i haven't read about this anywhere and she is resting now and just checking her rump at times. She is still trying to dig aa little. My vet is in surgery . Thuis bile is what has me worried. Is it normal and how long after water breaks till pups are born. |

| I'm not a breeder so I can't offer you any advice but I just wanted to say good luck.

| The bile is not at all uncommon...and it will not come out of your clothes. Chances are she didn't eat much immediately prior to going into labor, so there is no food TO throw up. Is she contracting, pushing, or still just digging? BTW...Stacy and Kimberly are both online...just give them, oh, 2 min or so... Last edited by BamaFan121s; 08-22-2006 at 07:33 AM. |

| Both of mine vomited right when they went into hard labor. It was white, foamy stuff though from not eating. Good luck! I hope all goes well!

| Update on Silk!!!!!! thanks to all you that finally came on LOL. it seemed like hours. My husband didn't think she would have them before late today so he left. he was supposed to be my support person, big breeder that he is LOL. Anyway, after her water broke and shee vomited, all signs of labor stopped. I sat beside her whelping box for two hours then I called Janie Fleenor of Termaryorkies for help. i thought you all had deserteed me. Janie suggested taking her to the vet so I called and told them what was going on and he said to bring her right in. he was ready to do a section but I asked him to try the oxy first. he did and we waited and waited and nothing happened so i signed the paper for a section and asked him to spay her also. (Because of her age) he will spay her if she does alright with the section. he felt two puppies but couldn't tell if they were alive or not. |
