| We talk a lot about choosing the right breeder... But what about choosing the right home for your puppies? What are your qualifications? Sorry if this has been done before...

| I don't have an answer since I'm not a breeder but I am curious to see what all the breeders will post.

| you never know.... I'll just tell about my first litter-- this lady got my # from my vet, a cat had got ran over in front her house and she took it to my vet to have it's leg set, and I thought wow!! if she would do that for a stray cat that got hit in front of her house she would be a good mom for 2 of my puppies, she wanted them for her 2 girls. she paid $800.00 each and I even went to her house just 1 mile away and saw her home, very beautiful ;stayed about an hour and then visited my 2 little girls every other month, when they were 6 months old she called and said she didn't want them anymore!!!!!!! I was shocked to say the least, I gave her back her money minses the Vet bill, she never even once took them to get any puppy shots or anything, they just had the shots they had got from me !! i sold them next day to lady that had bought their litter mate, so now all 3 girls are in the same home and I visit once in awhile they live about 1 hour away from me. sooooo I too would like to know how to go about screening buyers, they can tell you anything, and the realllly surprise you!! |

| I don't breed but here are some things I would want to know: How many dogs have you had in your life? If yes: 1. How many are at home now? 2. Are / were they large, medium or small breeds? 3. How old were they when they came into your lives? 4. How old are they now? 5. How old were they when they passed? If the person is a first time dog owner, I would be reluctant to let one of my pups go to them unless my "Female Intuition" says - she/he's ok. I think I would ask things like: 1. What do you know about Yorkies? 2. How many hours do you usually spend at home? 3. Will this puppy be living with you? And I will make them sign an agreement to contact me if for any reason they decide they can not care for the pup. Does this help?
