Help! Please!

Hello everyone, I'm new here, but basically just reading from threads to thread..and I'm in the middle of my search for a baby Yorkie and find this forum very helpful and everyone seems very accomodating and helpful.
Anyways, I came across this classified ads http://classifieds.yahoo.com/result....sort=-datesort
and some of them gave their yorkies for FREE you just have to pay the shipping. I reply to couple of them saying that I'm very interested and base on the emails, they are giving the dog for free but have to pay $300 for the shipping, and that I should go to Western Union to transfer the money. Do you think that this is legit and not a scam? Because you know what was weird 2 different people reply to me, and coincidently they are both missionaries, and both in Africa...My husband says that I shouldn't believe such thing that I should go and take a look at the puppies first. Now I'm confused...at first I'm arguing with my husband becaue I truly believe in them because for me no one in their right mind would scam a person using God's name. See so that's why I'm seeking advice from you guys.... If you browse through the site that I've pasted, you could see, 1 of the owner's name is Karen Griffin and the other is Simon Kinberg. Can anyone please give me advice and help me out? Thanks very much!!!

RUN THE OTHER WAY AND LISTEN TO YOUR HUSBAND - that's a major scam going on all over the net.....They have no puppies -most of them Steal pictures of other peoples puppies for those ads....

and NEVER SEND MONEY Via Western Union - you will never see it again nor will you ever see a puppy !! IF you ever have to send someone money - USE your Credit Card or Pay Pal. But it IS best to see the dogs in person - your husband is right on all counts.

IF it sounds too good to be true - IT IS Usually !!

Here is a thread where you can see people talking to one of the scammers - they are very good at what they do - remember - their SOLE purpose in life is to get OUR Money

It is definetely a scam. Never send money without going to see the pup, or knowing or talking tothe breeder. This scam has been going for some time now.

NO DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY.

Your husband is right, it is a scam. They will take your maney and you will never see the dog. There probably isn't a dog.

Start out by emailing them and Asking a lot of questions. Most of them will probably not even reply if you ask a lot of questions.

There is one thread on here where the YTer is emailing them just to get their response.

I will try to find it and post the link for you.

Honey - don't think - ignore those types of ads.

Too many people fall for it and it's really a shame. Just look for a reasonably priced dog - you don't need to try to find a 'deal' like that - too many of them are totally bogus. Those scammers rely on the fact that you Want a puppy really bad - and the shipping they SAY they need ...is just enough to make it worth their time scamming you - Add up all the people taken for $300.00 each and it can easily turn into the thousands in just a day or 2.

The references to God and being Christian is just a hook - to make you think they would never rip you off and many people fall for this. Emails are full of this kind of scam ...Puppies just happen to be an easy target now because our Hearts are in our search.

Please search this site for Help finding a puppy and ask people here if you need help - but be careful of those free For Sale Sites....I swear - most of the Ads these days ARE scammers - they're taking over the net.

Scam!!! We have discussed this before many times on her - before you joined, so we all know about this scam. If it sounds too good to be true - it is! You can't usually get anything for free these days - unless it is something that you don't want. LOL

Hello and Welcome to YT!!! I sure hope you can find a great breeder here to help you with finding the right baby for you!! So glad you came here 1st and didnt send them scammers any money!! it's very sad that people do what they do to make a easy buck!!!

NO NO NO Don't do it. I have gotten emails too saying they were missionaries and on there way to Africa I posted looking for a yorkie, this is the same thing I got. It is a sad thing that they have to use these tactics to con people. I know of someone that did that and she sent money for shipping and never got her dog, I haven't read the others postings as I wanted to hurry and get this to you. Keep looking for your yorkie and their are many fine breeders here at YT. Pray for the Lord to lead you to the yorkie you are meant to have, and HE will. Please come back and let us know when that happens and share all the joys you and your hubby will have with it. Your hubby is right, listen to him. If I hear of one I will let you know.

It is a scam!!!! It is a shame people do this. I almost fell victim to it once, I thought like you that since they were christians and all that they were telling the truth. So I just trusted my instinct and didn't go with them, which I am glad I didn't, I would have only been scammed and very upset.
Here are some replies that I got back a long time ago from people who were scammers. These are all different people, yet have the same line or story.

If you want a yorkie pup, take the time and get one from a breeder here at YT, it will be worth it!!!

Thanks for your interest in my babies, I have actually been looking for a caring parent to adopt my babies. I have prayed fervently about it and I believe the lord has answered my prayer. I believe you are a God fearing person. It is never my intention to get my babies adopted out but my primary assignment with the almighty Lord had exempted me from giving my babies the needed care they deserve. Neither me nor my babies feel comfortable with this development. Also, the weather here is so harsh that they hardly come outside with me to play whenever I`m around. I travels alot on missionary work within the african region. As you can see, I am always busy.

My babies are AKC registered, they are 2months and 10 days currently, recently dewormed and had had all their shot up to date.
