| stud contract, help Hello, I have a 3 year old male who is unalterated and I plan on breeding when I get another female closer to his size. Many people have asked if I want to stud him out... but they ask for an outline of my services... I dont have any outline or contract... I would like to know what you include in your stud contract and how much you charge for a stud fee or if you prefer pick of the litter, but does that mean you have to assist in the vet costs through out the pregnancy? I appreciate your help and imput |

| We plan on doing the same thing. We have only talked to a few other breeders, but we are choosing pick of the litter and only planning on breeding once or twice. I don't know if this is always the case, since I have not asked many breeders, but I have been told that pick of the litter is just that - pick of the litter. I wouldn't help with vet costs, and I wouldn't get profit from any pups sold. But I did get one bit of advice from someone. She told me to get really close with the owner of the other dog so that I know exactly how many pups are born. She said it's because she has heard of some stud owners noti being shown the complete litter (I guess they hide the one or two pups that are closer to breed standard to get more money for them). I know, really shady. Hope this helps. But like I said, this is information from only two breeders so I don't even know how true it is myself.

| Here's a link to a very thorough stud contract. I guess you will have to cut and paste it since it's not an active link. http://www.annasheavenlymaltese.com/images/Annamaria%20Maratona%20Cahill--Stud%20Contract.PDF#search='stud%20service%20contr act' |
