hello all...i posted last night on the wrong thread sheet...*nursery section* but i was told i should post here-common sense...but very tired, going through all these forums to find the right one, and excitement through me to the side...but we would like to know several things...Fendi is now 2 years old and a few months...she is about 4 pnds...her second heating cycle began 6 weeks ago and she was with a male that was about 10-11 months old...a week after i noticed her period the male got stuck in her at least twice...now her tits are big and her tummy is solid...she doesnt throw up, doesnt seem to sleep anymore than she usually does *which is a lot to start with it*...what i also noticed is i have a waist high hamper in my room and for the past 2 weeks or more shes been sleeping in there and goes crazy if we go near it could she be getting her birth place ready?...the reason why i think she may be pregnant is bc when she had her first period my baby went through a horrible false pregnancy and after that became vicious...her tits did get big with her false pregnancy but not like this..this time the nippleis enlarged and looks nothing like they ever did...her bottom two nipples havnt chnaged much..today they seem to be getting bigger...also i am afraid that she will act like she did with her false pregancy and not let me near the pups to weigh and make sure things are okay...sorry its so long but im starting to worry for her...thank you for the time you take out to read and reply...woof woof

Sounds like you could be right. I would call my vet and have her checked to make sure. This way if she needs anything - you have her there.

Also IMO = I would have her spayed and just enjoy her as a pet. If she is only 4 pounds - she is very small to be breeding (may end up with C-section or something else when they are small like that).

definately fixing her after this...i was going to call last week to make an appointment...but the weather here was so hot we went to our summer house..and noticed she looked pregnant and i cant get her fixed now even if the doc says shes early...i feel as if im not giving the little guys a chance...so if she does need a c section and if it is possible for her to be fixed during that then thats what will happen but for now i must let nature take its path...the reason why i didnt fix her was bc i figured shes small a little drips of blood arent bad so why make her go through the pain but after her false pregnancy i said i had to she just turned into the most vicious little thing ever...thank you for your time woof woof

please check your calendar carefully and determine the date on which she was bred. You can use the calculator on www.debbiejensen.com to determine her whelp date and also Start Reading Up. Yorkies are not a 'let nature take it's course' breed to whelp. Most need quite a bit of hands on help and many, especially small ones need c-section to deliver. You will need to have an x-ray done about a week prior to her due date to get measurements on her pelvic capacity and the size of the pups to determine if free whelping is even a possibility or if a c-section should be scheduled.

o i must have mis stated what i ment about nature and its path...i ment it as i wont get her fixed if allowed to now and terminate her pregnancy...but when she does give birth i will be on top of her night and day without a doubt...not crowding her but watching the little pups...i have raised a day old sugar glider which was born with a broken arm and the mother rejected him and started to attack...i know its not nearly the same but i am upto it...this is why i joined this site..for help, advice and experience

Welcome! I just had my first litter about a month ago, and the ladies on here are AMAZING! I took things my Vet has told me and doubled checked them on here, because these ladies specialize in the breed. It was VERY hands on for me with my first litter. I had to do EVERYTHING for her. Two pups came out with no sac, and one with a tight umbilical cord. The Mom was trying to run frantic with the pup still attatched to her. BUT my Mom ended up being GREAT! I think you are going to have a REAL challenge if the Mom gets viscious when pregnant. I hope the ladies here are able to give you some ideas, because we do alot of hands on with the pups daily too.

Good Luck!

Rain Oops

I would definitely take her to the vet and get her checked out. The vet might even tell you that she is not able to carry or deliver the pups. Actually, if it were me, I'd be there once a week until he/she said time is close and then I would ask him/her to keep her right beside his/her side until she had had her puppies and everything was good again. I've had my puppy since June 16 and made an appointment and took her to see a vet a week for 3 weeks before I chose the one I wanted to stay with. I thought it was easier to make these decisions before it comes time to spay her. Sorry to be such a nervous Nelly - don't mean to be a downer- but always better safe than sorry. Best of luck to both of you.

omg i just got back from the vet and she is pregnant...i am so scared for her, the pups and the pregnancy...congrats on your first litter...the thing that scares me most is the umbilical cord and that none come out breeched...im working with her now with her being vicious...i dont let her see me scared and when she shows me teeth i pretend it doesnt bother me and continue...when she bites me i shake it off and tell her no...shes undergoing heavy training...but congrats to you and thank you woof woof
