| Dori will not eat her puppy food at all? The only thing she will eat is cottage cheese, cheese, ham and other meats. She will not touch the Iams puppy food and hasn''t for about 3 days. Is she getting enough of what she needs in these foods I listed? She will also eat her puperoni sticks...I bet its pure junk.

| Perhaps try another brand of puppy food. Iams isn't known for the best ingredients - so if you baby likes meat - look for the brands that only list meat at the first ingredient with things such as chicken meal further down the line. Keep in mind that if the food contains corn or wheat there is possibility of allergies occurring. Any time of meat by-product means junk, not a digestable protein source. There are several very good brands out there. Why not try Merricks Puppy Plate, Chicken Soup for the Puppy or any other of the premium brands. You will need to go to a pet supply-type of store to find these, but it is well worth the health of your puppy. Good luck.

| Dori is our preg. mom...Is eukanuba any better? If not, i go to Dallas Monday and will look at Petsmart for one of the ones you listed. Both of our Yorkies have always eaten Iams....Rec. by the Vet...now I'm concerned they haven't had a premium food.

| Have you tried mixing the dry puppy food with some canned food, like Cesars. Some say Cesars is not good, but my theory is, any food is better than NO food at all. |

| Eukanuba has by-products, but I fed it for years and years without any problems - good health, good teeth, good coat, good stools. I have just now switched over to Nutro Natural and everybody seems to like it. |

Sorry, I always forget to check which forum I'm looking at since I just to Quick Links for Today's Posts. I also see that I can't type very well lately! I've learned tons about the quality of food from this forum and by reading ingredients since Sissy went on her dry good strike. As long as she's not eating well, trying some new brands might be a good idea. I know both Merricks and Chicken Soup (as well as Natural Balance) score among the highest. Several other great brands out there as well. Good luck with Dori and I hope the puppies turn out great!!

| Maybe Royal canin? I know it has corn in it, but it is a great dog food... my puppy was on Iam's before I got her, and she went mad for the Royal Canin when I started switching her food over... She just loves it! And you can find it at Petsmart...

| I think I'll try to find either sample bags or small bags of 2-3 and try them. If she likes one...I'll just make another trip or order online. Dallas is about 90 miles from us and our resourses for premium products here in Paris are very slim. Thank-you!!!!

| When our Moms are expecting its common for them to get picky about what they eat, they tend to go off their food for a while. At this time feed them anything they will eat but try and remember to keep it as healthy as you can. I find boiled chicken , cottage cheese, baby food- the meat , can help get them to eat. Try and stay away from the junk snacks if you can. Debbie Ray www.sumtoiyorkies.com |

| Stephanie, I'm going through the same thing with Gracie right now. And our girls are on the same schedule. I feed her the Science Diet Kibbles, so what I did was get a small can of Pedigree puppy food, mixed a tsp or so of it with a tsp of water, to make a gravy, then I poured it over her dry food. She liked that. She's only eaten it once, though. She's back to being picky again. I just make sure she eats a little slice of turkey lunchmeat & maybe a bite of cheese each day, until this passes. I wouldn't go too over-board with feeding other stuff, though, because they can also test you to see what all they can get. Like yesterday, Gracie wouldn't touch her "doctored-up" food, but when we sat down to have pot roast, potatoes and carrots for dinner, she scarfed down the carrot and the piece of meat that my son "accidently" dropped on the floor. So, it's easy to cross over to "spoiling" them with the mushy, tasty stuff, which is not best for their dental health. I hope Dori gets her appetite back soon! |

| We are getting back on track with the food. I did put away the "junk" treats. I have put her dry kibbles in the blender and sprinkle it on cottage cheese and boiled chicken breasts and her eggs. She eats that without any problems. Thank-you breeders for your advice. Will keep you posted. I don't know what I'd do without this forum.
