| MMyorkies ... the babies are adorable!! I would be terrified to have one that tiny ... although I hate that I missed the first 16 weeks of Toto's life ... our breeder was absolutely right about waiting to get them until they are older! They look so fragile. Even at 16 weeks I thought for a minute I would have to "arm wrestle" her to get her as soon as we did! We just immediately bonded and I would have literally died if I didn't get to bring her home that day!! Although there were three babies and we were to pick from all three ... Toto is the first one we saw and my husband and I immediately just lost our hearts to her! We didn't even see the other two! I understand now why she is just so particular where she places her babies and that's a good thing! Although we had many phone "interviews" in the months before we got Toto, she still didn't really know us from "Adam" but we had already met with the recommended vet [Dr. Lucy] twice before we actually met the breeder and I think we passed inspection! We have certainly lived up to their expectations plus some! Toto is probably one of the most pampered, spoiled Yorkies on the planet!! Do you plan to keep your babies or will you place them?

Ya gotta be extremely cautious and careful the first few months. We loved getting Yoda at 4 weeks though, since the bonding time was incredibly important (at least to us) and I feel that he loves us more because we bonded so much when he was a wee little rat.

If they all look to be show quality we will keep them all, we are definately keeping the boy and one girl, but not sure about the other one. They are tiny when born, mine were only 3 ounces and one was 2 1/2 ounces. They are now up to 7 1/2 ounces and 8 ounces. Boy Eddie, how did you ever get one at 4 weeks. They are not even supposed to be weaned that early, that is way too young to let a toy pup go. But if the breeder was going to get rid of them that early it is better that someone that will take the time to learn about them and take good care of them gets them. It is so important for their socialization to be kept with the mom until 12 weeks, and sometimes even longer. They learn so much from the mother.

No idea, but before we got him, we read that 4 weeks was the minimum age to get one. Yoda turned out just fine, thankfully.

Ok now I want another yorkie..... I got my chihuahua when she was 4 weeks old, (all 8 oz of her) well she was going to be 4 weeks in 2 days. For a dog loving person taking care of them is no big deal but for someone who has a dog just because they are cute it is a big deal. Not just anybody can do it since there is a lot of tlc that goes with it and hearing your hubby complain because we can't go anywhere because the pup has to be fed is not nice either. He would tell me well bring the pup with us, which would be reall dumb of me if I had listened lol. But after you see that you raised that baby is such a joy, well for me it was!!!!
