help This is a very long storie, I am tring to breed my female yorkie (18mo. 4.5lbs) with a stud that is (4yrs. 2 lbs). I am breeding her to donate to cancer survivors, i explained this to the lady that has the stud and she said all she would want is the pick of the litter and i agreed. My dog started he heat cycle on last friday and stayed with he for 8 days. Five days after i droped off Molly she call me and told me that she emailed me a contract and that she now wants $500 cash. She started acting really strange and so i had asked her if i can see her dogs papers when i pick up molly she said no and that she did not have them. This ladys storie changed 3 times and i had to call the cops just to get my dog back from here. Here comes the bad part, I get home and call my vet because i notice the she had really goopy eyes and i heard this scream, my male yorkie got ahold of my female and he is 6.5lbs. I do not know what to do because she wants to take me to court for the $500 and i did not even sign a contract. I told here that Molly will not be ready to conseive until 9-14 day of the heat cycle. The 9th day is today. Should i be concerned about my 6.5 lb yorkie tieing with her? What can i do about this lady? I did take a picture of my dog tied to my other dog; however, she can try to say the her do did it. Also my female screamed when my male tied with her. I am so scatter brained i do not know what to do, this lady keeps calling me and herassing me.

First, it's possible for a litter to have two fathers. Is the background of the father smaller or larger than 6.5#. I would just make sure to keep a vet involved and do an x-ray to make sure her hips are wide enough for the puppies. If not, I would still think you are okay, but looking at the extra expense of having a c-section performed. Second, without a signed contract I really doubt she can do anything. I am a little confused about the dates you left your dog with the stud dog. If your dog tied with her at day 9 and you are sure about the dates I don't think a tie probably occurred earlier and maybe that is why she wants $500, rather than a puppy. I always want to witness the mating and have a signed contract to prevent problems like this.

Thank you so much for your help, Do the females scream the first time they tie or do they scream every time? I took here to the studs house on the 2 day of the heat cycle; however, I thought that she can not get pregnet until the 9-14th day of the cycle. The 9th day would be today. I have a fetal doopler to hear sounds of heart beats in the womb and it would take another week to hear them; however, Molly still was not ready to mate until today.

It is possible for a female to be injured during mating, but not common. Did you hold them still and comfort her while they were waiting for the tie to loosen? I can't say I have had one scream, but whine, yes, even after a previous delivery. It's hard to know without being there and knowing the dog, but you might want to have her examined by a vet just to make sure everything is alright to be on the safe side. I have a human doctor grade stethoscope, but I can't hear any heartbeats until the last week to 10 days. You are right breeding takes place approximately 10 - 14 days after the first sign of blood and the color changes from red to a straw color. Sometimes the blood isn't visible though and you must barely insert a Q-tip to check.

breeding I have had females accept a male as early as 6 days to 18 days in..but the norm is 9 to 14. This is a real pickle. If you want papers, you must do DNA to determine the sire...if the sire is the breeders male and it is not as likely, but possible in the AKC eyes.. then you must pay her fee. I have a feelign you are not dealing with a reputable breeder...why would she take your bitch at the beginning of her cycle to breed...? She does not know what she is doing..tell her to sue you in small claims and let the judge figure it out..the most you are going to lose is the $500 stud fee..AND...if she does sue, take the AKC papers with you to court and make the judge have her sign if she wins the fee. Good Luck
