| one puppy in litter Hello everyone, I'm new to this board. I just got a little female yorkie shes almost 9 weeks old. She appears very healty. I do have one question. When I went to the breeder and asked how many puppies were in the litter they had told me she was the only one. Is this something that I should be worried about? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Shes going to the vet tomorrow for her check up. Thank you. |

| That isn't very common, but I do not think it means anything is wrong. I'm sure she is fine, and the vet can help you out if you are worried. Good luck and I'm sure none of us can wait til you show us a picture of you baby! What is her name?

| I didn't think this was a very common thing. Also I think shes a little big for her age since the breeder told me she'd be about 4 pounds. Shes seems very healthy, I haven't noticed anything wrong with her. Her name is Lady. Shes very sweet. As soon as I figure out how to post a picture I will. Thank you |

| pup A single pup in a litter is not rare for toy breeds..and sometimes there were two and one did not make it. I think the single ones do just fine, they bond well to humans..ans most breeders have other puppies for them to become part of a litter after weaning. She really is cute...she may be bigger then what you asked or, but she has a lovely. sweet face. She looks her age to me..trim the ear hair so they will start to go up. Best wishes |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | She's adorable! She may end up to be short and stockier but she doesn't look like she will get real big.

| only one being the only baby is not something you should worry about. She should be bigger because she didn't have to fight for milk! And she got plenty of it. Most of my litters have been 3 or 4. But my first litter was one BIG stocky boy. So don't worry so much and just enjoy her! |

| Hi! My Topher, who's now 22 wks old and 7.8lbs was the only pup born to his mom. The breeder told me from the outset that judging by his weight at birth and his growth that he would be a good size, which was fine by me. I'm not sure how big he will get as the charts don't seem to go up this high..lol. He's a gorgeous little guy and seems to have bonded with us wonderfully. We adopted him at 18 weeks and according to the vet he's in excellent health. Your little gal is so sweet....congratulations!! Val |
