| A note to those of you who are sitting in judgement Earlier today I read the post titled "how to euthanize". I was very upset when I walk away from my computer, as I'm repeatedly dismayed by the complete RUDENESS that some of the yorkietalkers display. At least if someone is here asking a question, their ASKING. Isn't that better than just believing what they've heard, read, or seen others do? Perhaps with some gentle, friendly advice you all my be able to guide someone to your way of thinking. But, disgusting and upsetting as it may be, it seems that the original poster, might have had a legitimate question. If she's considering becoming a breeder WOULDN"T IT BE BETTER if she got her information HERE instead of from other sources? If, indeed, there was a book that suggested the "freezer method" at least she came here and asked! . There is mostly likely TONS OF BAD INFO out their, and you all have the opportunity to educate. Instead, I think you scare people away. I love this forum and I love my yorkie, but if I'm not welcome here after this, so be it. I'm sure you'll let me know.

| Thank you to those of you who spoke up on my behalf. There were some very judgemental posts. I won't quote them here because I'm sure you all read them. I understood people being a bit freaked, but there was no call for personal attacks. Much appreciated. |

| It disgusted me big time, but I think it's more or less a legitimate question. Hopefully no breeder is ever in that situation.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Just a thought: Should the breeder talk forum not show up on "New Posts," but have to be accessed specifically by people who are prepared to discuss the tough issues a breeder faces? In this instance, I think it might have saved a lot of people some serious grief. How can you expect a person who dresses their doggie up in bows and dresses and totes them around in a baby carriage not to get upset at the thought of breeder euthanization? I'm just saying not to be too quick to cricitize those who reacted with revulsion. They were discussing the issue honestly as well.

| You're right there was no reason for personal attacks on Jeanie for the question! I didn't read enough of the posts to see the personal attacks on her - sorry!! My reaction was purely for the content of the question!! And the fact that I would go to a vet - my opinion - and I thought that is what I quoted also. I am sorry if that is the way I or anyone else came across. Yes I do agree the education should come first and formost! |

| I think some people only want to hear the opinions that they want to hear. There are some of us here to whom that post was disgusting and unnecessary. Why post about something like that unless you want to envoke a reaction (reminds me of someone we all knew). With all of the great resources available to breeders and pet owners, why would someone in their right mind do something so cruel? Sorry if people don't like the disagreeing posts in that thread, but maybe before people open a thread they should think about what kind of reactions they might get. They won't always be welcoming and positive. JMHO.

Exellent point! I think it would be a great idea to make the breeder forum less readily accessible. Then, if someone went looking for it they'd have to be prepared to deal with what they read. Someone else had mentioned that they wouldn't blame the breeders if they don't respond, and that's too bad because they are the one's with the most to offer on a subject like this. | |

| oops...to clarify, it's too bad if the breeders shy away from answering the post about euthinizing...although I think I might if I were them. |

| I admit that I was one who was a bit judgemental about this post, but it did come across as very hurtful. I know that she was just asking a question, but when she saw the posts that some of us were just horrified by the thought, she didn't seem to understand why. I know, or at least hope, that we all love yorkies and animals here, but we have had so many threads started in the past couple of weeks, that have been meant to stir controversy. This seemed to be one of those. I do apologize for jumping to conclusions, but it was very upsetting. I will try and keep an open mind next time.

| Whenever we put a thread out there for thousands to read it is going to get all types of reactions good and bad. It might be nice for people to write their thoughts after they could address it in a more adult manner. I know that a lot of people have the best interest at heart and it is NOT always displayed in their post and or people put their own feelings into the response and not what was truly the answer or remark the person posted. I have seen this time and time again here. Trying to make something that wasn't. I too have been accused of attacking people and that has NEVER been MY intentions either. Please note this is JMO I am not attacking anyone.
