Placenta came out! then went back in? Is this normal? A first placenta emerged really fast about the size of a ping pong ball... she kept licking and I let her be. Checked a couple min later and it went back in almost completely. Is this normal? She doesn't seem to be pushing yet. |
bubble It was the water sac..a bubble as must call it...not the placenta that is attached to the puppy and should follow the birth of the pup. She may have broken the bubble and hard labor should start quite soon..if not please have you vet check her. |

went back in in a matter of minutes. Now she has a clear "bubble" with thin blood veins. I am guessing this is the water sac. It's not broken yet. I'll keep watching... |
i cant help, but please keep us updated! hope momma does good and everything turns out ok! |
maybe this will help you identify what is happening click on whelping photos on the left http://www.debbiejensen.com/signs_of_pregnant.html please keep us posted! |
I actually called Debbie Jensen when the placenta first came out. She told me not to worry. So the bubble just popped I think a few minutes ago. She was in her crate and i think she cleaned up most of it. Contractions a bit now - so I am waiting....!!!! |
if you need anything please dont hesitate to pm or call, we are all here to help! Please keep us posted when you can... |

whelping If you really think it was a placenta then you should go to the vet. The placenta is attached to the wall of the uterus and remains attached (hopefully) until birth..if they separates before teh actual birth of the pup it will die very fast...so I would say it was a water sac that came first...not splitting hairs, just want to help for anyoen who reads this thread in the future for reference. Good Luck |

First puppy came out! Breech, back feet first. Puppy is okay and very strong and active already. It's been almost an hour and half. She's on the second pup but she's tire. We've been giving here some honey and seems clost to the second. will keep yall posted. THANK YOU EVERYONE for your advice and help!!! |
2nd Pup! Bigger head than the first. 2nd is a female - same coloring! Q: the second placenta or stringy stuff mom is pulling out of herself is green. Is that bad since the pup is already delivered from that placents? Awaiting a 3rd! |
pups No, you are okay now...the placenta "strings" are green... |
