YAY! But does anyone know the cost of the C Section YAY! Today we`re going to the vet with Mollie[Shes going to be a year this month & she weighs about 3 1/2lbs!]. To OFFiCiALLY find out if she is pregnant or not! If she is, it would come out to being a C Section that she would get. Does anyone know how long/the cost of this presedure? Thanks and i`ll keep everyone posted!

| I would guess in every state and even county it would be different. But here in my county Pasco and my State Flroida it was $400. Or at least that is what I was told. Bell gave birth natural. Just a thought but isn't she too young and too small?? Well Good Luck

Yeh, she is tiny, but unfortunatly, we think she is pregnant, we tried our hardest to keep Bugsy[male] away from her, but he just wouldn't leave her alone! haha! But since it was just her FiRST heat, she would need to have a C Section so the puppies could POSSiBLY live, but we aren't sure yet..but were going today to the vet, and she would tell us, hopefully if its enough time in between. But her nipples are large and her vagina is as large as a golfball! haha a little bit too much exageration but it is very large..do you know what we should feed her because we`ve tried SO many foods! Its crazy! =] Do you have any suggestions?

C-section Cost Our vet charges us when it is NOT an emergency around $500.00.. When it is an emgerncy you can add another $115.00 onto that.. When our vet is not on call and we use the emergency clinic it cost anywhere bewteen $700.00 to $1,000.00.. She sounds very small and at her young age she has not even matured out to her adult weight.. Not only that she is still a puppy and sometimes Mothers that are that young do not have the maternal instinct to take care of their babies.. I would make sure you have bottles and puppy formula on hand for such an emergency.. Best of luck..

I forgot to mention that I make what are referred to as satin balls (hamburger, wheat germ, eggs, etc..) I also feed them plenty of green beans, carrots, chicken, beef liver and eggs.. But if your lil' girl is not eating I would offer her anything you can think of at this point!

okay! thanks a ton! Well Mollie is full grown, and shes going to be a year old this month. We intentionally did NOT mean to get her pregnant..But you said the hamburger, etc.. well is that human or puppy food? Should we still be feeding her puppy food or should it be adult food? Or something else? Because if we are able to make the puppies live because of the first heat, we would love it, but if they werent then we still want to make sure that she has the proper nutrition no matter what. Help please?!

I am not sure why you are concerned about this being her first heat and the puppies living or not because of it. The problem is not the FIRST heat, but her age, her size and the fact that you all appear to be inexperienced in breeding..How far along would she be? Will your vet not do a spay to ensure that she is safe and that she herself survives? I do not intend to be mean, but an OOPS! in a puppy this young and this size can have dire consequences..Since it seems that she is already full grown, she probably will not be a candidate for breeding and should be spayed to prevent such an accident happening again. Is the sire a Yorkie? Small? Is he gonna be neutered?? Is there an experienced breeder in your town who will consent to mentory'all in this whelping??And, then with the babies? There are many chances for problems from now thru the weaning process of the puppies..The satin balls have helped keep some tinies out of trouble..

| Well, lets think about the momma to be. Feed her puppy food, give her cottage cheese a few times a week (around 2 tbsps) should be good. Don't allow her to jump around (but then again being that small I'm sure she isn't jumping on the couch. When do you think she will give birth, if she is pregnant? 58 to 64 days from the first breeding? If her vulva is swollen that is a sign of pregnancy. Let us know what the vet says. I was looking at your dogster pages, is it true your male is a lot bigger then your female?

Okay! Im back! Alright, well to Karen, yes my male(Bugsy) is much larger then the female(Mollie). But we did NOT intend to make her pregnant with him, he would try to fight back at times when we tried to stop him, so we just said, let it be, hopefully she won`t get pregnant. And yes, her vulva is swollen. We did not get a chance to go to the vet yesterday, they didn`t have open spots as in we thought, but we made an appt for today at 5:00. But, if Mollie DOES turn out to be pregnant, then we are going to go through with it, and let the puppies be. But people have told us, and said that in the FiRST heat, don`t let the female get pregnant because 1) she is too young 2) for sure the puppies WiLL NOT live. So we took that into consideration, untill my sister came here. And people were telling her that it was okay. So we have said it was okay for mollie. But we are NOT inexperienced breeders because we used to have a cat and she had 3 kittens. So we know most of the procedure, and our cousins know a lot about breeding, and also we have the vets to back us up and help! But it is more then likely that she is pregnant. And lately she has gotton larger, because the pictures on her dogster are when we had just got her. I took resent pictures yesterday after she got out of the bath, so i will put those up today!

We had to do a reg c section and the cost was $1,000.00,if it been not planned it would have been 1300,yet worth every penny because our female is alive and well,so is the pup,but at least our two are the same size, now we are looking at a spay and nuture, because I would not put her thru that again,no way,I live in Utah and prices are fair here

A cat having kittens is as related to a tiny yorkie getting pregnant is the same as full grown lab having babies naturally and a woman having a csection, they are not the same..prepare to loose your female in the process, that way if it happens you knew ahead of time,if she should make it,then you are the happy one,and much smarter in the process..good luck and keep up the attitude"so be it",it will make it easier later
