| X-rayed Saturday We took Chloe to get X-rayed on Saturday to see for sure how many puppies to expect. We've been feeling for the past couple of weeks and both guessed 3. I was hoping for 4. Well Vet says 2 for sure and most likely 3. I think 3 - the x-ray showed two spines kinda crossed like an X - vet says he thinks one was on top of the other. So - I think 3. She's due 3/10 about. We could SEE and feel the puppies moving and kicking alot in the past couple of days. I'm just worried about overfeeding her and having the pups be too big? Eeek! So excited!

| I always have mine x-rayed about a week before they are due so I know if I am in for any trouble. This last litter all came out butt's first........Scared me but it went really well, mom had no problems at all. |

| X-rays I personally never x-ray my expecting mamas until they are at least 7-10 days before their due date.. If you x-ray the mama to early the bones on the puppies will not be calcified enough to make sure that your count of the puppies is accurate.. I try to wait at least 7 days before.. At that time you and your vet should be able to count every spine and skull! It also will give you a better estimate to the size of the puppies and if they will be to large for mama to whelp on her own.. Vets know this and I do not understand why they do not let breeders know to wait until 7-10 days before the whelping date.. Good luck with your litter and let us know how mama does! |

| The calcium does not set in their bones til past 7 weeks so Xrays done closer to 55 or so days are more informative IMO. |
