Have you guys heard or researched on www.yorkietpup.com ? The owner is Jeff Dane and http://www.firebrandyorkies.com ? I have heard good reviews about them....but I have not personally met them

JEFF DANE at his best with his AKA or little site helpers to get people to his sites DONT FALL FOR THESE LAST TWO POST, with the exception of Kimberley!!!

Kimberly is right - Jeff Dane has a TERRIBLE rep and you can search the net or get on his site to see why - That man is a Breed for Profit greedy breeder who has sold many sick puppies in the few years I've been researching and posting about yorkies.

On the other side of the coin, there are people who rave and say good things about him so I would simply suggest that you not pay attention to forum rumors from people who have never been to his kennel or spoken to him personally and that everyone do their own research and call him and preferably go see his kennel and make up their own mind. There were rumors spread which are not true, and I have a couple of forum friends who got pups from him and were at his facility, met him in person and think he is the greatest.

I have never met him or seen his kennel and the things I read on the internet do not sound credible to me so my opinion is based on his website, some email communications and what my friends who have gotten puppies from him have said.

Kim..SOCAL...This thread is about BAD Breeder experiences - can we stay on that subject and not change the thread ?

I would hate to see a debate start here and it get closed - this thread has already helped many people.... and though I can't talk about it on the site yet - let's just say YORKIETALK should be proud of itself for keeping this thread up 1-1/2 YEARS and it's still being read.

You just have no idea Kim - let's not end it because you want to praise Jeff Dane......This thread is not about praising breeders - it's to WARN people to in Texas to watch out where they buy their puppies.

PLEASE ....we all know how you feel ...let's leave it at that.

Help your friend by doing searches on the net - Type in Jeff Dane -

One thing about looking at websites ...we don't really get the whole image - look at the prices - look at the pictures - you will feel in your heart if you know it's a good site or bad - even better - visit in person....but try not to fall for the Hype of Jeff Dane - he is a master of Sales and has made alot of money by being so good - what people don't see is the broken hearts left in his wake. I used to know quite a few people who dealt with him - it's not good.

I feel so bad for the puppies...they have done nothing wrong...
They need to be stopped...and the puppies need to go to a good home....

Thing's slip my mind also... I completey made my ___ late for the football game because I put his tickets up, and forgot where they were...He is at the game now...So no problem

The best thing to do is share personal experiences or share something you know to be true - pass the word along and try to enlighten people about the dangers of buying from unethical or really BAD breeders ...If you know of abuse or neglect - report it....it can't hurt that's for sure.

I posted THIS thread a long time ago about experiences I personally had.... and you'd be surprised at where it went in as far as people reading ...

people really can help each other & in turn - we can help the poor dogs in bad situations...or at least get people to take notice.

Mone't ...Where did you get that post by Candice and who is she referring to ? I missed that one !! Poor girl !! That sounds awful

Edited again - I found it - she went to Oklahoma and Candice - I WOULD report that.

Dog lovers protested a Pembroke Pines

With a frisky Chihuahua at her feet, Vanessa Bosse and about a dozen others picketed a Pembroke Pines store Saturday, accusing its owners of tricking customers into buying sick puppies.

Even though Nacho, Bosse's dog, came with a certificate of health, he had diarrhea the day she took him home from the Wizard of Claws store, she said. Nacho was also coughing and scratching his ears, said Bosse, 44, who lives in Sunny Isles Beach and Monte Carlo.

''We would really like to educate people so they will not be fooled like we were fooled,'' said Bosse, who filed a lawsuit against Wizard of Claws in Broward Circuit Court late last year. ``You don't have to buy a dog when you can adopt one.''

Protesters said they want to encourage others not to buy from the store at 9113 Taft St.

A SEPARATE LAWSUIT

Last month, the national Humane Society joined a separate lawsuit in Broward Circuit Court against the store on behalf of five customers in Cooper City, Miami, Texas and California.

Originally filed in 2003, the lawsuit asks the court to find the store in violation of the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, and to order the store to repay customers for the purchase price and veterinarian expenses.

Florida Attorney General Charlie Crist also opened an investigation on Feb. 15, looking into claims against Wizard of Claws, said Crist's spokeswoman JoAnn Carrin.

A call to the store from The Miami Herald was not returned Friday. The doors were locked Saturday, and employees in the store would not open the door. One employee said Jim Anderson, whose wife, Gilda owns the store, was out of town.

Anderson previously told The Miami Herald that he doesn't knowingly sell sick puppies: ``They leave here apparently looking healthy.''

Bosse, who paid more than $5,000 for Nacho, a fawn and white Chihuahua, took him home Jan. 29. A few days later, her veterinarian diagnosed Nacho with kennel cough, ear mites and giardia, a parasite living in the small intestines, she said.

Bosse became suspicious. She said she tracked down her breeder in Oklahoma with the help of the stopwizardofclaws.com web site.

Bosse's veterinarian, another breeder and an official from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services confirmed that Nacho was the result of breeding within the same family of dogs, which can lead to health problems, Bosse said.

''It broke my heart,'' said Bosse ``I was devastated.''

PUPPY MILLS

Saturday's protesters, including at least one member of a South Florida rescue group, stood on Taft Street holding picket signs. They claim Wizard of Claws buys dogs from ''puppy mills,'' or massive out-of-state commercial breeding operations.

Breeders in ''puppy mills'' do not take into account the dogs' pedigree or genetics, said Judi McKissick, a board member of the Bulldog Club of South Florida.

''They are not breeding for the betterment of the breed,'' she said. ``They are breeding purely for profit. It's a horrendous problem.''

YES !!!!!!!!!!!

I just read that whole article and thank you for posting that ....I think it's great that people are taking action and going after that Awful Pet Store...no one should have the heartache of buying a sick puppy...or worse...having their puppies die.

The information about them getting the Pet Store puppies from Mills hopefully is an eye opener for anyone considering a Pet Store to purchase their new dogs...Stay Away !!

I know I owe you a personal Thanks Fasteddie.....You have let people share what they know on this site without fear of anyone 'coming after' you...

This post I did so long ago did cause you some grief...I know the Kennel made threats about what I said....but you stood up to it and I want to thank you for that.
