| Thank you all for the kind words! I wanted to give a shout out to Deb from Amazing Yorkies for staying up with me that night and walking me through everything to make sure everything was fine with Mimi. We're getting better and better everyday. Mimi was feeling a little under the weather yesterday with vomiting and I rushed her to the vet incase of an infection but luckily it was just her stomach acting up due to the antibiotics the vet had her on. She's on so many medications right now, my poor baby. The important thing is she's doing excellent considering the 2 major surgeries she had. Now I just need to get tips from everyone on how to get her milk to dry up and what I can do to help get rid of the lumps she's starting to get from the milk? Should I try to milk her? I've been putting warm damp towels with epsom salt in the water on her 2x a day for 30 min and trying to take some of the milk out but its so hard to do so. Any tips? |

| I'm so glad deb was able to help you through. Hope things are looking up at your place. She is on an antibiotic right? I had mastitis before and it was awful- if she were intended to continue to produce milk I know milking/nursing is beneficial but I am not sure it would be since you want her to dry up? With goats the answer is no, don't milk.

| Thanks to both of you yes I'm very thankful for Deb. I will be buying one of her babies soon! I'm super excited for that. Mimi is on an antibiotic so I'm not worried about mastitis but actually last night I tried to get as much of the colostrum as I could out of the two top nipples and then massaged each one for about 5 min with a warm towel and today they look SOOO MUCH BETTER!!! I'm scared to keep doing that in case she accidentally produces more milk though lol |

| Have you consulted with your vet how to dry up the milk? I am sure Deb as a breeder would be able to offer advise, suggestions on this.

| Yeah he said just warm compress with epsom salt lol. Similar to what Deb told me. I was just asking to see if anyone has had any luck with an alternative. It seems to be working fine though! Today she's much better. |

| Thank You YOrkiex! If it was not for this thread - we probably would have lost alll our pups and the mom. The symptoms that you posted on here were excatly like ours. As soon as I saw a bunch of green mucus and her bag pop with only water I ran to the hospital. Our yorkie Mercedes had also 4 pups and could not deliver naturally. The bag that se walked around with for a couple of hours should have had a puppy but it could not come out. We lost that pup and got to save 3 pups. Thank you again! Your pups in heaven is sending messages all over the world. God Bless! |
