| Sweetie, take some of those blankets out of that bed. Too much danger in a puppy getting entangled and sufocating. Also, mom could hide them in there and the same result. Use a heating pad wrapped in something-I put the pad UNDER my whelping box- and try to keep the bedding at a minimum. Pads are great in the bottom of the crate..Do not leave mom and babies on the floor of a larger crate. They need to be contained in an area that mom can move around in but not much more room than that. If the puppies cannot get to mom, they will starve to death. If they are not suckling well, after 12-24 hours, you will need to supplement them. Get back to us if you need help doing that.. |
