| Is UKC a recognized club for Yorkies? Does anyone know if United Kennel Club, Inc. is a recognizable organization for registering yorkies? I purchased a yorkie that is UKC registered and do not know anything about UKC. Thanks "Whitley's Mom" |

| I did too, and since he was from Ireland I thought it was a European thing.... Evidently it is some kind of club where just about anyone can register just about any kind of dog without any kind of documentation! I asked the same question when I got my first Yorkie, and no one on YT seemed to be familiar with it. I concluded that it was a useless registration. As much as I love my little boy, he is not even close to the Yorkie standard... Universal Kennel Club International

| UKC is one of the only other US registries with conformation and agility events. I think its much better than most of the other US registries out there, IMHO if the paws law goes into effect many breeders may change over or indeed dual register their kids.
