60 days and temps Hi everyone!!! My name is Niki and i'm new here. My girls is 60 days from first breeding. I've been doing her temps every four hours the past couple of days and twice a day before then. She has been acting weird all day, not digging at all but she has been in and out of her whelping box about every 5 to 10 min, a lot of stretching, sleeping every chance she gets. She hasn't touched her regular food but did get her to eat some chicken earlier. Here are her temps. Took her to the vet Wednesday for an xray and has 4 possibly 5 pups and they all look good and the one is in position. Wednesday morning vet tech took temp appx 9:15am was 100 vet took temp appx 9:30am was 99 Thursday night 100 Fri 9:30am 98.9 1:30pm 98.9 7:30pm 99.84 11:20pm 98.88 Sat 8:30am 98.17 1:00pm 99.35 5:25pm 98.98 10:30pm 99.09 Sun 1:30am 98.98 Do you think she is just going to be one of the dogs that doesn't drop much or possibly has a lower temp normally? I'm so confused :/ I have notified my vet it could be this weekend tho. Any comments or guidance is greatly appreciated! Oh and her playmate has his feeling hurt, starting today she's been growling at him every time he come by her, and she never growls at him.

If anyone is reading this, she had a final temp drop to 97.83 and has started nesting and panting...a lot. She didn't eat her regular food today but I did get her to eat some boiled boneless, skinless chicken breast

Has she whelped yet? Hoping everything is going well for momma, babies, and you. After she has the babies, you will do well to not let her eat all the afterbirth...just let he have one or two, or she will vomit it all up. Plus it usually gives them diarrhea. There are recipes on here for a lactating mommas pudding to give your momma after she has her pups. She wont feel like eating much so you have to make every bite she takes, count as much as possible! I couldnt give any ideas on temps....I dont often use temps to determine when momma is going to whelp, simply because I have several females that have never dropped their temps at all....While I put my faith in other behaviors that indicate they are getting close to whelping, I do take temps twice a day starting a week before she is due......although I also have a female that does NOTHING by the book, and all of a sudden, I hear soft whimpering and THAT is my indication that she has started having babies!
