| Anxious granny My pup Bonnie is 19 days old . She was a singleton pup and seems to be very chubby (1lb 8ozs) .Will this delay her ability to walk?. She is ok on her front legs but her back legs splay out a bit. She does try to bring the back legs in. Am I being a bit paranoid!!! Shirl |

| Do not be paranoid. She may have a harder time learning to walk because of the extra weight, but you can help in so many ways. You can help her exercise and be mobile. You need however, someone experienced to show you how in order to help and not make it worse by causing an injury. Your vet should be able to coach you , if she is indeed too heavy . You may just think she is heavy and she may turn out to be just a big puppy . Honestly, get a vet opinion and help as you may benefit greatly to get it out of your head sooner rather than later. Good luck. Xoxo

| Thanks for your advice. She is 23 days old now and is walking better albeit still a bit wobbly, but improving. I have done a little very gentle passive exercise with her back legs, but my hubby who is an orthopaedic surgeon says she is fine... She is also sitting too and goes potty on her pee mats. She is now 1lb 10 oz and I think she is going to be like her mum who is a big teapot at 17lbs.....Valentina is coming on great too...I think being a singleton pup they miss out on all tumbling and play with other litter mates.
