Senior Yorkie Talker | My babies are 4-weeks-old today! Hope this comes through, it's a video of the pups during their feed/play time last night. They're getting so active, it's rare I can get a photo of them that's not a total blur. LOL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9V--AQApmU

Well..."GROWN" is a relative term with my babies...lol They're only at 14 (+/-) ounces right now. But yes, they are so active I can barely get a good reading on their weight. If anyone has any ideas on how to improve this, please let me know...then again, most breeders probably don't need to weigh in as often as I do this far along :S They are little darlings and I love how they learn the routine (except the weighing part- ha!) Very smart little balls of fur I started offering them food when they turned 3 weeks old, mostly because they started licking me (like giving kisses) as opposed to suckling. It shocked me, but after getting some feedback here, I found it's not an exact science, some can be ready as early as 3 weeks, some may not start until later. They were also refusing the bottle and as you know, I've been frantic trying to make sure these little ones keep gaining, so I decided to offer alternatives and see if they took to anything else. They're not full time on puppy mush (as I call it), I'm only replacing supplemental feedings. Lola has now been eating quite a bit. Still eating the home made stuff, but I have incorporated dry and can dog food into it and she has not minded...so far...so we're keeping our fingers crossed that she'll keep it up. But to answer your question, she also REALLY likes what I make for the pups, so I bring the pups out, let them use the potty pad, which they're doing really well, feed them, and when they're done, I put the rest in the pen...it's usually gone by the time I put the pups back in! LOL

| They are so cute. I am amazed that they use the wee wee pads. Seeing them together you can understand why they cry their little hearts out when go to a new home. Zoey cried the first night and I just put her next to my chest under the blanket and no more crying. Of course, the tape worm that climbed unto my chest was YUCkY!!

I know, I was surprised at how good they are on the pads too, but we have a routine...wake up, go on the pad, eat, go on the pad...and any time I see a 'spill' on their bedding, I change it for clean bedding right away and they start to develop a real sense of where they should and should go. We had a lot of changes the first day or so, but now their bed stays pretty clean. I also keep the pad where they've gone before or try to transfer some of the scent onto a new pad when a clean one is needed. Their little noses help them keep track of the right place to go when they're out on the carpet and there's only 1 pee pad on what otherwise looks like a gigantic pad (the carpet). On another note...tape worm??? Wow...and yes...yucky!
